00:00This afternoon, a woman carrying multiple knives stabbed two people in Times Square on 7th Avenue.
00:07NYPD officers in the area responded immediately, deploying a taser and discharging their firearms.
00:13Both of the victims, as well as the alleged perpetrator, were taken to Bellevue Hospital.
00:18I'm deeply saddened to report that one of the victims has passed away, as has the alleged perpetrator.
00:23The second victim is currently in the hospital in stable condition.
00:27I ask New Yorkers to join me in holding the victim in our thoughts and wishing them a full recovery.
00:33I want to thank the NYPD officers who stepped in and prevented a horrific attack from becoming even worse.

00:52The subject waved the knives before stabbing a 68-year-old man in the right side of his abdomen in
01:01what appears to be a random and unprovoked attack.
01:06The victim was removed to Bellevue Hospital and is currently in stable condition.
01:11The subject then proceeded up 7th Avenue toward 42nd Street and approached a second victim, a 32-year-old woman,
01:21stabbing her in the abdomen.
01:23We believe that this, too, was a random and unprovoked attack.
01:28The stabbing was captured on police Argus camera.
01:32The female victim was removed to Bellevue Hospital, where she was tragically pronounced deceased.
01:38Both stabbings occurred within approximately 20 seconds of each other.
01:44At this time, we are not naming the victim's pending family notification.
01:50The subject began waving the knives and advanced towards the officers.
01:54Multiple officers discharged tasers, which proved to be ineffective, and the subject continued to advance towards our officers with the
02:04knives.
02:04Two officers then discharged their service weapons, striking the subject.
02:09The police-involved shooting was captured on police body-worn camera.
02:14The perpetrator in this case has been identified as 49-year-old Pamela Cisneros of Queens.
02:22She was pronounced deceased at Bellevue Hospital.
02:26Cisneros has a documented mental health history with the NYPD with one incident in 2018 and one in 2019.
02:36She has no arrest history with the department.
02:40At this point in the investigation, we have no reason to believe this incident was an act of terrorism.
