00:00I'm very proud of the result that we saw yesterday.
00:04What I mean by that is that we had over 80% of the country say something in this election.
00:11This is great for Iceland.
00:14We've always had great participation in our elections.
00:17But the fact that we got people to the table on a matter like this is extremely important for us.
00:23And it's vital because it gives us a stronger mandate to make a decision on this matter.
00:29I want to make it absolutely clear.
00:31This government is not going forward with the accession talks this term.
00:36And I mean it's my point of view that you can't have a referendum like this every one or two
00:42years.
00:42It's a huge matter to do.
00:44I'm not going to say things might not change in the future.
00:46But our promise was to ask, get a result, respect it.
00:50This government will continue with the EEA agreement but we will not go further with accession talks.
00:55We respect these results.
00:57And a big lesson for me and also for the government is that people are happy with the EEA agreement.
01:03They're happy with the current relationship with the EU.
01:06And I know that a large proportion of those that supported no in this election did so
01:11because they were happy with the current relationship with the EU.
01:15So this is the lesson that we take with us.
01:17We will continue to strengthen the EEA relationship along with Liechtenstein and Norway as well as with the EU.
01:25And that is the most important thing going forward.
01:28Oh my God.
01:30Yeah, thank you guys.
01:34Gracias.
