🚨🇩🇿🇳🇪 Algerian Sukhoi fighter jets reportedly fly over Niger’s capital in a show of solidarity.
Four Sukhoi aircraft were reportedly seen flying over Niamey on Sunday, August 30, accompanied by an aerial refueling aircraft, following the recent security unrest in the Nigerien capital.
The reported overflight comes just days after Niger’s Prime Minister Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine visited Algeria and met President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. Algeria has since expressed its “full solidarity” with Niger following the events in Niamey.
The reported presence of Algerian aircraft over Niamey has not been independently confirmed by Algerian authorities, so the nature and purpose of the flight should be treated as unconfirmed.
