00:01Good morning. I am Flora Alvarez Taboada from the Universidad de León and on behalf of the Universidad de León
00:10and Propopoulos, I'm presenting briefly the main results of our project funded by IEFC to extend the adoption and functionality
00:25of the app at Propili Plus across Europe.
00:30Propili Plus combines citizen science and artificial intelligence and georeferencing data to help identify and monitor pest diseases and other
00:44types of damages in popular plantations.
00:46The purpose of the project was not only to improve the app, but also to promote its practical use among
00:57popular owners, forest managers, researchers, educators and other European stakeholders.
01:03We also aim to explore the synergies with the citizen science application, Silver Alert.
01:17All the core tasks and deliverables have been completed except for the final seminar in France that it has been
01:26rescheduled for autumn 2026.
01:28The project has been organized around five complementary areas, training activities like these two seminars.
01:40Then as well, the adaptation and localization of the application to review the information we have from both Spain and
01:56France.
01:56And as well, another core area is was the integration of the two apps at Propili Plus and Silver Alert.
02:09And then the European webinar was held on April 8th under the title and Popili Plus and Silver Alert Citizen
02:20Science and Artificial Intelligence for Detecting and Monitoring Forest Health Statues.
02:26These were the three speakers. We had more than 100 attendants from all over Europe and the attendants, they provide
02:38questions and gave us feedback as well.
02:42The Spanish face to face seminar was held in Granada on May 7th and the event combined training on the
02:53use of the two apps
02:55with information about the main pests and diseases affecting popular plantations.
03:00There we had over 50 people.
03:05And as well, the application adaptation work included the review of these relevant pests and diseases and the analysis of
03:17the information we collected through the user reports.
03:21The idea of having all these data is to understand which are the main damaging agents and also we can
03:29use this information to support surveillance priorities and for further plantation management strategies.
03:38Another important output, as said, was the roadmap for collaboration between a popular class and silver alert.
03:47We developed two possible integration approaches, including their technical requirements and estimated budgets.
03:53So this provides a concrete basis for future interoperability, data exchange and cooperation between the two citizen science systems.
04:05The project as well produced a complete dissemination package, which includes, as you can see here, a digital brochure and
04:17also an infographics for a property and silver alert.
04:21We also delivered a video as well recording in the field about how to use it.
04:29And as well, we had some coverage in the social media using the accounts of the Universidad de León, Garnica,
04:42IFC and as well Propopulos.
04:45Regarding Propopulos, Propopulos was in charge of three articles which were published on their website with more than 130 views,
04:5811 posts on X and also 11 posts on LinkedIn.
05:02And with this we had more than 4,000 impressions and also the project received media coverage in the Diario
05:15de León, a regional newspaper.
05:18And also the events were promoted through the Spanish Association of Silviculture Distribution Network.
05:27And as from our point of view, all these tasks have been completed or implemented, we just have this seminar
05:42in France that we found that it would be better to have it in the fall.
05:48This will bring together around 30 popular experts from different regions and it will provide a very good opportunity to
05:57discuss the application and validate as well the priorities for the French context.
06:03In conclusion, we think that this project has achieved more than all these individual deliverables, but that we have created
06:14a network, a collaboration network around digital forest health monitoring and that we are moving together towards a broader European
06:26forest health monitoring tool.
06:29So thank you very much and have a very successful conference.
06:34I wish I was there, but I hope you really enjoyed these days there.
06:40Thank you very much.
06:42Thank you very much.
