00:00İsrail just stopped a security threat inside Syria
00:03from becoming something much bigger.
00:05Let's take a look at what happened.
00:07Since the Syrian civil war,
00:09Turkey has embedded itself inside of Syria.
00:13It now has a substantial military presence
00:16in roughly 5% of Syrian territory.
00:20Now if we look to the south,
00:22where Israel is located,
00:24by contrast,
00:25Israel now holds approximately one-tenth of 1%
00:29along a border that has threats from Hezbollah
00:32and ISIS and other terror organizations,
00:35which means that Turkey, that has no threats,
00:38is holding 50 times more Syrian territory than Israel.
00:42More than a year ago,
00:44Israel and Syria reached an understanding
00:45to maintain the security status quo
00:47and to keep this border calm.
00:50Syria breached that understanding.
00:52Israeli intelligence identified
00:54that Turkish troops were about to deploy
00:57at the Abu al-Dihur airbase,
00:59which is located in northern Syria,
01:01which is less than, as you can see,
01:04200 miles from Israeli towns
01:06and Israeli communities.
01:08Prime Minister Netanyahu
01:10made Israel's position very clear.
01:12We will not allow Turkey to entrench itself in Syria
01:15and to be moving steadily south
01:17towards Israel's border.
01:19Israel warned Syria repeatedly,
01:20don't do it.
01:22We know that Syria received those warnings
01:25and that it chose to ignore them.
01:27So Israel delivered the message in another way.
01:30Now, some might ask,
01:31why should Israel be concerned about Turkish forces in Syria?
01:35Well, because Turkish President Erdogan
01:39has openly called for Israel's destruction.
01:42He even said about our closest partner,
01:44the United States, that,
01:45well, a just world is possible,
01:47but not with America.
01:48Is this the kind of guy you would want on your border?
01:51And October 7th made it clear to everyone.
01:54When your enemy tells you that he wants to destroy you,
01:57you should probably believe him.
01:59Prime Minister Netanyahu has also made something else very clear.
02:03Israel welcomes a return to the previous status quo.
02:05So, we are not looking for escalation,
02:08but neither Turkey nor any other country
02:10is going to threaten the state of Israel.
02:13So, that is why the United States' fate is very difficult –
02:14I am there talking about his own.
