00:00Is it intimidating or thrilling to take the reins of a franchise whose very first entry is considered as a
00:08landmark of modern horror?
00:10It is definitely intimidating to come in and take over the reins for some of the best horror filmmakers that
00:16have, you know, made the previous Insidious movies.
00:19Obviously, especially James, who created the franchise with Glee.
00:22I was a huge fan of this franchise for years.
00:25I used to go opening weekend every time they came out.
00:27So while it was intimidating, when I got the call, I also sort of felt like I'm 100% ready
00:32to do this.
00:33I know every one of these movies backwards and forwards.
00:36I know the lore.
00:37I know the history.
00:38I know the rules.
00:40And it really was sort of a dream.
00:42And having Lee and James involved as well was such a blessing.
00:47Having their approval of the way I wanted to take the story, how I sort of wanted to change up
00:52the world.
00:52And also, I think the audience is just ready for a new approach to the further and to the Insidious
00:58world.
00:58Because we've had five great movies, but the Lambert story is done.
01:02And thank God, you know, I didn't want to see the Lamberts hurt any more than they've already been hurt.
01:06And so, yeah, it was an absolute joy.
01:09And so while intimidating, I relished it.
