00:03Last month, just here in the Tucson sector alone, more than 18 deceased people were found.
00:09So people come with the dream of crossing the border, but if you do it illegally, you
00:13don't get to decide where you're going to cross.
00:16The coyote is going to tell you where you're going to cross.
00:20The coyote is going to take you through inhospitable places where you have to walk for hours,
00:25and it's impossible for you to carry enough water.
00:32So that's something we unfortunately see often, people dying in the desert while trying to
00:36reach the interior of the country.
00:44Clearly, most people's narratives is, you know, don't cross or it's hot or you may have a chance
00:49of dying or something, but really people, you know, do have reasons to come to the United
00:57States for a whole host of reasons and spend a lot of money and time doing it, and it seemed
01:03kind of cavalier to be that simplistic about it.
01:07If people are going to make some kind of journey, clearly a better time, if you're going to cross
01:12through Arizona, it would be when it's not so hot outside.
01:14That does seem to be the highest risk factor for people dying.
