Inspired by a viral trend, I decided to try this amazing IKEA hack myself. Follow along as I disassemble, resurface, and reassemble this table into a sophisticated piece that perfectly matches my living room decor.

00:00This is how I transformed my IKEA coffee table from this to this.
00:04I got this inspo from this creator and I recently came across 4 sale for $15 locally and I knew
00:09I had to copy immediately.
00:11I started off taking off the hardware that's attaching the wooden slats which are mounted
00:15by 4 separate allen key screws and you're left with just the frame of the coffee table.
00:19And I purchased a roll of wooden contact paper from Amazon but I realized it was way too
00:24small so I decided to overlap the area that wasn't going to be covered by one piece.
00:29I began by prepping the wooden slats surface by using alcohol to take off any oil or residue.
00:35It is so important that you do this otherwise it's going to start peeling eventually with
00:39time.
00:40After covering the surface area, I began wrapping the sides.
00:43I decided to stick it separately because I wanted to make sure the grain of the wood was
00:47consistent throughout and this also minimized the risk of peeling.
00:51Also I chose this color because it matches my IKEA IKEA cabinet system in color walnut.
00:57And you're left with the almost completed coffee table.
01:00Before topping it off with the glass top, I put some rubber door stopper sticker on 4 different
01:05corners.
01:06For the glass top, I purchased a size 20x24 inch 3.8 thickness glass from Amazon.
01:12I have been seeing other creators struggle with this but for me, it came next day.
01:16To finish it up, I decided to add some decoration and voila!
01:19I thought it came out so good I'm obsessed.
01:22This was super fun DIY and I highly recommend it if you have the chance to snag one of these
01:27tables.
01:28So before we go does the nimble details.
01:28Let go of it, let go of it!
