Clarifying the ongoing state-wide debate over the Gutkha ban, the Health Minister confirmed that the Karnataka government has NOT lifted the ban on Gutkha and nicotine-mixed pan masala products.
Reacting strongly to opposition against the ban, the minister urged critics to visit Kidwai Hospital to witness the plight of cancer patients affected by tobacco. He assured that the decision would not harm arecanut farmers and mentioned plans to discuss the matter further with CM and DCM DK Shivakumar.
ರಾಜ್ಯಾದ್ಯಂತ ಗುಟ್ಕಾ ಮತ್ತು ನಿಕೋಟಿನ್ ಮಿಶ್ರಿತ ಪಾನ್ ಮಸಾಲಾ ನಿಷೇಧದ ಕುರಿತು ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಪರ-ವಿರೋಧ ಚರ್ಚೆಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಸಚಿವರು ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ನಿಲುವನ್ನು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
"ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಯಾವುದೇ ಕಾರಣಕ್ಕೂ ಗುಟ್ಕಾ ನಿಷೇಧವನ್ನು ಹಿಂಪಡೆದಿಲ್ಲ. ತಂಬಾಕು ಮತ್ತು ನಿಕೋಟಿನ್ ಮಿಶ್ರಣ ಮಾಡುವವರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಕಠಿಣ ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗುವುದು. ಗುಟ್ಕಾ ಬ್ಯಾನ್ ಬೇಡ ಎನ್ನುವವರು ಒಮ್ಮೆ ಕಿದ್ವಾಯಿ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ರೋಗಿಗಳ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ನೋಡಲಿ" ಎಂದು ಸಚಿವರು ಖಡಕ್ ಆಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಈ ನಿರ್ಧಾರದಿಂದ ಅಡಿಕೆ ಬೆಳೆಗಾರರಿಗೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ನಷ್ಟವಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದು, ಈ ಕುರಿತು ಸಿಎಂ ಹಾಗೂ ಡಿಸಿಎಂ ಡಿಕೆ ಶಿವಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಚರ್ಚಿಸುವುದಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ವಿವರ ಈ ವೀಡಿಯೋದಲ್ಲಿದೆ.
