00:06Lithuanian capital Vilnius is turning into a capital of corgis. The city is
00:10hosting its annual corgi race, an event that brings together 150 corgis from nine
00:16countries to figure out whose short legs are the fastest.
00:23This year dogs came from Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Estonia, Germany, Ukraine, the
00:29Czech Republic, the United Kingdom and even the United States. What started as a race between
00:36friends dogs now turned into an international event.
01:02This year's winner, a dog who came all the way from California in the United States of America.
01:10We came just for this event. It's not often you get to go to Europe for a corgi festival.
01:18But it's not only about speed. Corgis can show off their talents not only on the racetrack,
01:23but also in the catwalk, where they can sport the best costumes their owners have created.
01:31Others can put their noses to the test in the best nose contest.
01:35Or show off their vocal skills at a mighty-ass voice barking show.
01:40The barking showdown was exactly what Duke, a dog from the United Kingdom,
01:44the home of corgis, had come for, unsurprisingly.
01:51However, when the showtime came, he got a bit shy.
01:56We tried to get him into the barking competition, but even though you just saw,
02:00like he barked so much, he...
02:02As soon as he's in the spot.
02:03Yeah, stopped, did not bark a single thing. He's known as the quiet corgi now.
02:09The second place winner in the costume competition was Vetra, or, in English, a storm.
02:15A dog from Latvia, who transformed into a mushroom.
02:18We Latvians are mushroom pickers, and this is what we are famous for.
02:23And then, actually, the creative idea came from, well, what Latvians are very, like,
02:29super proud of. Oh, they are proud of their chanterelle picking.
02:32And we actually went to chanterelle picking last year, and Vetra enjoyed it a lot.
02:37So, that's actually, the idea came from that. So, Vetra became a chanterelle.
02:43One of the oldest participants, 12 years old Ozis, will return next year.
03:02The one who is coming back for sure is Clefis.
03:07We enjoy very much. Actually, we wanted to attend last year as well, but it was very small.
03:11It was like eight months or something. So, we didn't do it.
03:14So, it's his first corgi race this year.
03:16But, uh, hereafter, we'll be every year, most proudly.
03:29You've got to add.
03:29I don't know.
