00:00Amy Hunt has produced a stunning golden double at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham, winning both the 100 and
00:08200 metre titles on home soil.
00:12The 24-year-old first claimed 100 metre gold in 11 seconds before following it up with victory in the
00:19200 metres, clocking 22.19 seconds to beat fellow Brit Dina Asher-Smith.
00:27Here is what Amy Hunt had to say after her victory.
00:31Congratulations, double gold medalists. You've got two out the four that you're targeting.
00:35Yes, I'm so proud of myself. To achieve something that I think only two other women, maybe correct me if
00:41I'm wrong, but have ever achieved.
00:42And they're two women that I've looked up to since I was a child.
00:46So I'm so proud of myself and to join that elite group and to be able to do it at
00:51home makes it all the more special.
00:52Did you have a selfie with everybody in the crowd tonight or just most of them?
00:56Most of them, I felt sorry because I was under strict instructions after the 100s.
01:00Coach said, no matter what happens, I need you to get through as quick as possible.
01:03So I wanted to give the crowd the time and I'm someone who loves putting on a show, as everyone
01:08knows.
01:09So I love meeting the fans. That used to be me. I've got selfies with Andy Pozzi and Harry Aitens
01:14after me.
01:15So I really appreciate everyone that comes out here and hopefully they can also be on the stage with me
01:20one day.
01:21When did you know you'd won?
01:22Oh my gosh, it's so hard in that type of race with someone like Dina who goes out so incredibly
01:28hard and someone like Rashida who closes so incredibly hard.
01:30I didn't think, I knew I wasn't safe until I fully crossed that line.
01:34And then I was so full of lactic that I don't think it hit me until about five seconds afterwards.
01:38And then I could finally start celebrating and the fireworks were just absolutely kind of pretty much off the cake.
01:44Like, yeah.
