00:23And it is a convincing, overwhelming win with more votes.
00:37They're a funny old lot from Hampshire, aren't they?
00:44And over the intervening years, I've stood in many elections.
00:50General elections, European elections.
00:54And now a second, by-election.
00:58And every time, I've really enjoyed going to the count.
01:05It's exciting. It's dramatic.
01:08You're on the stage. It's something to be at.
01:12And I'm sad to say that after 33 years of being a candidate in active politics,
01:19I've been advised tonight by Essex Police
01:23that there is an organised campaign to disrupt and degrade the result that will take place in a few hours'
01:31time.
01:35And once again, it shows you the sheer intolerance,
01:40the sheer loss of fundamental democratic principles
01:44that those that went before us fought in world wars to fight for and preserve.
01:51And this shows you why the battle that we're engaged upon in this great party,
01:56in this great movement of ours,
01:57is to get this country back to the values that it needs to be.
02:06And so I regret to say,
02:10and by the way, I'm not scared of these people.
02:12Far from it.
02:13But I'm damned if I'm going to stand on a stage
02:17having won a resounding victory,
02:20a ringing endorsement of all that I've tried to fight for
02:24and you've tried to fight for
02:25and be demeaned and humiliated by nobodies.
02:29And I will not, sadly, be attending the count,
02:31which means...
02:33which means I'm going to be here all night!
