00:03hi so my name is Lavi and I'm here to talk about biological immortality so
00:10right now currently mortality is science fiction but scientists are actually
00:15testing ways to slow down aging or even reverse it in the future so you know
00:23currently we know that some species or some jellyfish are immortal and I think
00:31there is something similar with hydra as well right like they don't die of old age
00:38so but we humans we don't have that ability we actually grow old but one
00:46thing that is common between both jellyfish and humans is that we are all
00:52collection of atoms and if we put the atoms in the right place in the right
00:56space or in the right structure I think there is a possibility that we can at
01:02least significantly extend the healthy human lifespan and maybe in the future
01:07even achieve immortality so right now I know of at least two individuals who are
01:12doing like some real work in this direction so this field itself is called
01:18longevity and Brian Johnson his company is literally named don't die and maybe he
01:26recently changed the name to immortals he's also doing experiments on himself and
01:32he tracks his biomarkers so currently his biomarkers are better than that of many
01:3818 year olds and he's like 40 or something and there is a Laura Deming of
01:44longevity we see so Laura Miss Laura finds biotech startups in this direction so her
01:53her startups are doing some real work in trying to slow down aging and extending
01:59healthy human life spans also I think AI is going to significantly accelerate
02:05research in this direction because for example there was an AI known as alpha fold
02:11although that AI is not directly related to longevity but it helped map 200 million
02:18protein structures the creators of that AI that map 200 million protein structures
02:24and saved years of laboratory work they got Nobel Prize in chemistry they are
02:31programmers and scientists right so I think in the future AI is going to
02:38accelerate research in longevity a lot and logical immortality might become a thing or at least
02:45significantly longer healthy human life spans will be a thing in the future that's what I think now
02:51the question is how does it affect humanity who gets access and how does it change marriage how
02:58how does it change studies how does it change what we do what do you think
