00:13where we funded a dozen and more major research teams
00:18to answer the question of what is the cause of autism.
00:22It's a complicated biological phenomenon.
00:24It's not going to be a simple answer.
00:26It will have, as the Secretary said, potentially genetic predisposition,
00:31but that cannot possibly explain why we've seen such a large rise in autism.
00:34There must be some other environmental factors involved,
00:37and that's the basis for thinking that's driving these dozen and more research teams
00:42that are looking at this.
