00:00Democrats are always going to have some hand-wringing about Joe Biden.
00:03It just is what it is with his age and things like that.
00:06But I think it does send a powerful message because there have been so much second-guessing,
00:12especially in the last week or so.
00:13There's been some great CNN reporting about that said bedwetting.
00:16So I do think this addresses it, especially the fact that he is outpacing Trump and DeSantis now.
00:23You know, he doesn't have to run against Donald Trump from four years ago or Barack Obama from eight years
00:28ago.
00:28He's running against, you know, potentially Trump or DeSantis now.
00:33And he can say, hey, I've got more robust fundraising than them.
00:37So why should folks say that I'm the one who's the weaker candidate?
00:41So, Jackie, you just saw Jessica Dean in Des Moines covering how six of the leading Republican candidates are in
00:46Iowa making their pitches to evangelical voters.
00:48Tucker Carlson is there moderating a forum.
00:51I want to get your reaction to an exchange she had with former Vice President Mike Pence.
00:58Why do you think the people who swarmed the Capitol on January 6th were mad?
01:03And why haven't we talked about that?
01:07Well, first off, I would tell you that I think the January 6th committee was a partisan committee in the
01:14Congress of the United States.
01:17And it failed its historic mission of bringing the facts forward.
01:24Yep.
01:25And I know your commitment to bringing all the facts to the American people, Tucker.
01:29And I know we're grateful for that.
01:33Remember, some of the people storming the Capitol on January 6th were threatening to hang Mike Pence.
01:38And somehow that's his response.
01:41What do you think?
01:42It's such a far cry from the Mike Pence just a week ago who gave a very nuanced, detailed answer
01:49to a woman at one of his events who questioned his role on January 6th on that day.
01:56Who said he could have sent the electoral votes back to the states, which is not true.
01:59Exactly.
02:00And he said as much.
02:01And he was very impatient walking her through it.
02:03And it was a really good answer.
02:04This, he was trying to appeal to a crowd that was never going to be behind him.
02:08If you have Tucker Carlson sitting right there, he immediately starts talking about the January 6th committee, deflecting about talking
02:15about the crowd.
02:15Later, Tucker Carlson pushes him a little bit more about whether it was an insurrection.
02:21And Mike Pence says, well, it was a riot.
02:23And so, but this, this shows just what a tough needle Pence is trying to thread here by not ticking
02:31off Donald Trump's most avid fans and yet still trying to separate himself from him.
02:39But he's not the only one.
02:41Leanne, listen to Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel talking to our own Chris Wallace about the 2020 election.
02:50Are you saying as the chair of the Republican Party that you still have questions as to whether or not
02:56Joe Biden was the duly elected president in 2020?
02:59Joe Biden's the president.
02:59No, I didn't ask you whether he's the president.
03:01No, I don't think that, I think there were lots of problems.
03:03Do you think he won the election?
03:04I think there were lots of problems with 2020.
03:06You're saying you're not sure as the Republican Party chair that he was the legitimately elected president?
03:12I'm saying there were lots of problems with the 2020 election and we need to fix it going forward.
03:16One of the problems is that people like her continue to lie about the 2020 election.
03:22What does this say to you?
03:24There are two reasons that Republicans continue to do this.
03:28Well, maybe three.
03:28Some maybe believe it, what they say.
03:32But the more popular reasons is because they are afraid of Trump voters and the voters who Trump has convinced
03:39that the election was in fact stolen when it wasn't.
03:42And the second reason is they are afraid of Donald Trump.
03:44And the wrath that he brings.
03:46And so this is immersed within the Republican Party.
03:50They had an opportunity almost two years ago to separate themselves from Trump and move into a direction of truth.
03:57And they declined to do so.
03:58So the lead has obtained video from the campaign trail of Republican and presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, who is polling
04:06quite well in several states, agreeing with a completely untrue and frankly unhinged conspiracy theory about the Federal Reserve illegally
04:17adding zeros to the bank accounts of media companies.
04:21Take a look.
04:23The Fed is illegally taking money out the back door, not through the proper channels or adding zeros to bank
04:28accounts to the media or their political, you know, maybe your political opponents.
04:32How are you going to stop that illegal under the under the table spending the money from the Federal Reserve?
04:39I think that I mean, the answer is you have to actually make sure the Federal Reserve is politically accountable
04:44to this idea that it's supposed to be some sort of special entity that exists outside the checks and balances
04:52of government.
04:53And that's where the original sin begins.
04:55And you're correct to point out what very few people are aware of.
04:58Absolutely.
04:58That happens.
05:00Again, standing in front of the bitter called truth.
05:02I know.
05:03So you can't you can't you can't write it.
05:05You can't invent it again.
05:07None of that is true.
05:08That is a deranged conspiracy theory.
05:11And here you have a Republican presidential candidate saying you're correct to point out what very few people are aware
05:15of.
05:17Well, this is why when you have these candidates that really are trying to get attention, he is polling well
05:22because he's been everywhere.
05:23He's really been.
05:25But but it's also because it's about it's about getting attention.
05:28It's about getting headlines.
05:29It's about appealing to every single voter that you possibly can, even those very much on the fringe.
05:35And we're seeing it right there.
05:35But because of that, you're going to turn off some other voters who might want to be to have someone
05:41who's being taken a little bit more seriously.
05:42Well, I mean, his rise in the polls means that he's taking away votes and attention from candidates who actually
05:47could be legitimate presidential candidates.
05:49Thanks to one and all for being here.
