Before there was light, there was silence. Before silence, there was a golden egg floating in the void. This is the origin story of the most intricate divine family tree ever recorded, spanning fifty deities across eight generations of sacred hierarchy.

This documentary traces the entire lineage of Hinduism, starting with Brahman and the Golden Cosmic Egg, moving through the Trimurti Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva and their divine consorts Saraswati, Lakshmi, and Parvati. From there we follow the tragic love story of Shiva and Sati, witness the birth of Ganesha and Kartikeya, and stand before the terrifying rise of Durga and Kaali.

We travel back to the ancient Vedic deities who ruled before them, Indra, Agni, Surya, and Yama, before descending through all ten avatars of Vishnu, the Dashavatara, from the cosmic fish Matsya to the yet-unarrived warrior Kalki, including full accounts of Narasimha, Rama, and Krishna.

Finally, we meet the great heroes of the epics, Hanuman, Sita, and Arjuna, and confront the most formidable adversaries in the tradition, Ravana and Hiranyakashipu, closing with the story of Kama, the god of love, whose death and resurrection brings this entire family back full circle.

Hinduism does not have a single canonical family tree the way some other traditions do. This documentary was built by cross-referencing the oldest and most respected sources available, and represents the most internally consistent version we could construct.
