00:02The facts are that in the last year the royal family undertook something like 2,200 engagements.
00:09Ten years ago it was something like 4,000.
00:11What is unquestioned is that William and Catherine,
00:17and she is, as everyone knows, recovering from abdominal surgery
00:21and won't be participating in royal engagements until at least after Easter.
00:28They've been doing fewer.
00:31Older royals tended to be attached to more institutions,
00:36but they do more for the ones that they're attached to.
00:39Now that might have to change.
00:41Otherwise the royal family's charitable profile and brand will be very considerably reduced.
00:50So the Princess Anne, it wouldn't be possible for her to do more
00:55because she does a very large number and is respected for so doing.
01:00Possibly the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh could increase their workload.
01:03But this is a tall order.
01:06There aren't that number of members of the royal family who are working.
01:10Clearly the Sussexes and Prince Andrew, they are both no longer undertaking royal duties, nor will they be.
