00:08Your Majesty's, Prime Minister, distinguished guests, my Lords, ladies and gentlemen,
00:15this morning's British national commemoration of the 80th anniversary of D-Day at the British National Memorial
00:22fulfilled the long-awaited desire of our remaining veterans to have their own, their own British Memorial,
00:29to the 22,442,000 servicemen and women who fought and fell on D-Day 1944, and of course in
00:38the campaign that followed.
00:40And on that celebratory note, but within the context of a morning when we've honoured and remembered with due solemnity
00:47those who 80 years ago this day were fighting and falling for our freedoms, may our, Your Majesty's,
00:53invite you to unveil this plaque and thus open the Winston Churchill Centre, our Centre for Education and Learning,
01:00so that future generations may know of the supreme sacrifice 80 years ago
01:05and why Britain played such a key role in the future of Europe.
