00:00You revealed in the comments some of the lighter private moments.
00:03Indeed, yes. Some of the moments when we were at Balmoral particularly.
00:08When the Queen wanted her guests to relax, she found Balmoral a more relaxing place to be.
00:13She enjoyed the countryside there.
00:15What I saw from her there was her tremendous love of the countryside.
00:20I remember one occasion when we were driving to one of the evening barbecues
00:24and the Queen was driving the Range Rover and we were going along one of the roads on the estate
00:29and suddenly we came across a gate and there was this enormous stag standing in the gate
00:33and the Queen said, what's he doing here?
00:36As she slammed on the brakes and to other drivers, like perhaps you and me,
00:41that might have meant, why is he in my way?
00:43But that wasn't what it meant to the Queen.
00:45The Queen knew that that beast, that animal, should have been further up the hillside.
00:51So it was a genuine, why is he down here? What's caused him to do that?
00:55It was an interest in the animal that drove that.
00:59And that, I think, showed to me her huge love of the countryside.
