00:00Hi, I'm Emmy, and join me as I talk to celebs on the Oppenheimer black carpet premiere.
00:10It's a very important story. I mean, the nature of destruction, the nature of science and military and government and
00:17all of this.
00:18It's very topical stuff, and there's so many ideas at play in this film, and they're handled so beautifully.
00:23But one of the most prominent right now is this notion that in a lot of our world, you're confronted
00:29with a choice to go,
00:31you're this or you're that, you're this is right or this is wrong, this is one decision, this is the
00:35other.
00:36There's no room in the middle for anyone, and that's why so many people are getting crushed in the middle.
00:40I believe that Robert Oppenheimer, because of the way his mind worked, needed to swim through that gray matter
00:48and really suss through ideas, and there wasn't room for that.
00:51And Cillian does it in such a... it's amazing. It's amazing.
01:03What is your biggest takeaway from this experience? It feels like a real once-in-a-lifetime thing.
01:08Yeah, I guess to have the privilege of working with an incredible ensemble of actors, with a master filmmaker,
01:14on a subject that is both important historically, but also provides an amazing piece of cinema.
01:22So it's great storytelling in a great medium from a master.
01:25To be involved with that, that's special.
01:39The whole of my career, you know, I've looked up to all these people, and they're absolute legends, each and
01:44every single one of them.
01:46But I have a soft spot for Cillian, because, like, a year ago, when I was, you know, watching his
01:52work,
01:53I was like, hmm, it'd be great, you know, just one day, just to work with him.
01:57So a year on to that, you know, it happens, so I'm really happy about that.
02:00And he's really great to work with. He's very accessible, and he's very down-to-earth, and he's also a
02:06great collaborator.
02:17The biggest takeaway is, it's just kind of like how, you know, it feels very timely, this movie now, and
02:25how important it is.
02:48Thank you so much for joining me at the Oppenheimer premiere, and we'll see you next time.
