00:20So kind to her there. I see this term kinship care
00:24Yeah, I hadn't heard before me neither having grown up in kinship care and actually
00:29I did a I did a film for I did a film on kinship care recently and
00:34I spoke my nan afterwards and I said nan do you know you were a kinship carer? She went kinship
00:38what?
00:40and I think it that that's really telling as to how
00:46Underappreciated and kind of ignored kinship carers are because as family
00:49It's almost just expected of you to take on the the important role of being someone's parent
00:55And and with over twice the number of kids in kinship care that there are in foster care it feels

01:01Underrepresented considering that outcomes are so much better
01:04Proven to be better for kids in kinship care because they're still with a member of family and do you
01:09think it's important to have the support of someone like the
01:11Princess of Wales and actually just sort of show look it's not necessarily all about that an average family makeup
01:17that there are
01:18Lots of different ways that children are brought up and you know, how important that support is
01:23Yeah, definitely I think you know raising awareness is one thing and then bringing about action and change is incredibly
01:28important as well
01:29Because they need support the roles that they take on at God knows what point in their life
01:32My nan had already raised three kids single-handedly and then at a point in her life where she had
01:37time to build a life for herself
01:38Took on the responsibility of my great-grandmother nanny edie who also brought me up and me so she was
01:44you know care of two ways
