00:04thoughts on what William and Catherine wore. The big question going into today
00:08was whether or not Catherine would wear a tiara. At the request of their majesty
00:13she did not, instead opting for a floral headpiece by Jess Collette and Alexander
00:18McQueen. The silver and crystal embroidery had a tiara-like vibe which
00:23was so fitting for this ornate occasion. Both Catherine and William wore more
00:28formal robes and mantles, another request of their majesties, and it clearly set
00:32them apart from the rest of the audience as senior members of the royal family.
00:36The Prince of Wales was quite fittingly sporting the ceremonial dress uniform of
00:41the Welsh guards. The Princess of Wales wore an ivory Alexander McQueen gown
00:45underneath her dress. I love that she turns to the designer of her wedding gown in
00:50these major royal moments. It was embroidered with symbols of the United
00:54Kingdom, roses for England, thistles for Scotland, daffodils for Wales, and shamrocks
00:59for Northern Ireland. Catherine also donned the George VI festoon necklace which was made
01:05in 1950 at the King's request for his daughter then Princess Elizabeth. Such a
01:10poignant tribute to the late Queen. And Catherine pulled her hair back in an
01:15elaborate updo which showed off her earrings. They are familiar to royal watchers
