00:00Welcome to this week's Hello Insider, where we're talking about Strictly Week 10.
00:04Will and Nancy topped the lead board with their epic Charleston with a twist,
00:07Fleur and Vito brought the passion with their Roomba,
00:10and Hamza and Yavita landed two 10s for their Argentine Tango.
00:14But it was Ellie and Johannes who were voted off, and it was an emotional goodbye for the pair.
00:18Thank you so much for joining us, Jeanette.
00:20Obviously, Strictly Weekend was sad to see Ellie and Johannes leave the competition.
00:26It was really emotional.
00:28Do you think it was the right time for them to go?
00:30I mean, it never feels like the right time for anyone to go in the competition, does it?
00:34Especially towards these weeks now, getting closer and closer to the final.
00:38Everybody really, really sees the prize at the end of the road.
00:42You know, they're so close.
00:43So nobody wants to go really more than ever at this point in the competition.
00:47But she did have the lowest scores of the night.
00:50So I guess if we listen to what the judges' opinions were in regards to the dancing,
00:55then yes, it was her time because she had the lowest scores.
00:58But I think emotionally and in terms of how much she's grown throughout the weeks
01:02and the friendship that she has with Johannes, she definitely wasn't ready to go, you know?
01:07Yeah, yeah.
01:07As you say, it makes it so much harder.
01:10Well, the show this week, obviously it's a bit different because of the schedule change
01:13and it's on Friday rather than Saturday.
01:16How do you think the schedule change will be making them feel?
01:21Because I guess it's kind of a loss of a day, isn't it?
01:23Will that be making them feel more nervous, do you think?
01:26Slightly, slightly, because, I mean, it just means that they probably are rehearsed yesterday,
01:31which is technically, you know, a day of rest.
01:34But, yeah, the pressure is on because it's less days to rehearse, less days to get everything in.
01:42And I think it will definitely show, OK, who can handle that kind of pressure
01:46and come forward and still deliver a great dance on Friday night.
01:50So we'll see.
01:51It's going to definitely keep everybody on their toes.
01:53We know that Kim Marsh has suffered with a bout of COVID.
01:57Firstly, do you know if she's feeling better?
01:58I don't know specifically if she's back or not just yet.
02:01But fingers crossed she is because we missed her at the weekend.
02:04Her and Gwetzean are such a great partnership.
02:06So hopefully she can dance this weekend.
02:09Yeah.
02:09And do you think competition-wise it would make such a big difference having missed a week?
02:13I don't know.
02:14That depends on the public and how the audience feels about it.
02:17I think it's out of her control.
02:19It's not her fault she got COVID or this happened.
02:23So it wouldn't be fair to judge her or vote for her or not vote for her for that reason.
02:27Because, you know, it can happen to anyone.
02:29So it's no one's fault, really.
02:31Well, let's talk about Hamza's Argentine tango.
02:34The judges were a bit divided on what they thought.
02:37I think Anton said that he loved the top half but didn't love the bottom half.
02:40And the scores kind of reflected their division.
02:44Why do you think they were kind of divided?
02:46And what did you think?
02:47I think Argentine tango is so footwork heavy.
02:52So I understand where Craig and Anton were coming from.
02:55Because the feet might have been a little bit floppy here and there, maybe.
02:59But one of the most important aspects of the Argentine tango, in my opinion,
03:03is the leading and following aspect of it.
03:06Because it's so intricate.
03:07You've got to have that upside down V shape.
03:09The lifts that you need to do with your partner.
03:12She or he needs to feel like you're secure, ready to go.
03:16And I think Shirley's comment, especially, you know,
03:18showcasing just how beautiful Jovita looks when she's dancing,
03:21is a huge, huge compliment to how good,
03:24exactly how good of a partner Hamza actually is.
03:28And I think I'd agree more with the girls, really, if I'm honest.
03:32Because it's very difficult to learn how to do that
03:36and to teach how to be that good of a partner in that short amount of time.
03:41But I don't not see where the boys are coming from either.
03:44Because his feet were a little bit sloppy here and there.
03:46But I think I would over see that and just look at how wonderful his technique was in every other
03:52way.
03:52Yeah, I really liked Shirley's comments.
03:54She was very team Hamza and very clear on that.
03:58Shirley mentioned that she wishes she could dance with Hamza.
04:02So our question to you would be, if there was somebody who's still in the running, male or female,
04:07who do you wish you could dance with?
04:10Oh, I couldn't pick one, you know, because then I'd have a favourite.
04:13And I can't really have a favourite as the adicts to host.
04:17But I think, again, you know, every single one of them is bringing something so special to the table.
04:22So I wouldn't be able to pick one anyway.
04:24Because I love Will's energy.
04:27I love Fleur's energy.
04:29I love Hamza's partnering.
04:30I love Helen's, like, oh my God, her transformation has just been sensational.
04:36I think they all have something incredible to bring to the table.
04:40So I wouldn't be able to pick one anyway.
04:42Well, you mentioned Will.
04:42He topped the leaderboard this week for the first time in a little while.
04:46He's had a bit of an up and down rollercoaster, hasn't he?
04:48What did you think of his Charleston?
04:51I absolutely loved it.
04:54I loved how different it was.
04:57I love that they tried to go for this more, like, cool, modernised version of what a Charleston can be.
05:03Because I think immediately when you think of Charleston, you think of flapper dresses
05:06and the curly short hairs and the feather in your head, you know.
05:08And I love that him and Nancy kind of went with this approach of making Charleston cool and modernised and
05:14fresh.
05:16And he was so brilliant in it.
05:18I mean, he was absolutely incredible.
05:20And Nancy, you know, she's such a beautiful dancer.
05:23I'm so happy for her.
05:24Her second year on the show as a pro with a celeb partner.
05:27And she's absolutely brilliant at the ballpark this year again with Will.
05:31So I think it was one of my personal favourites of the night because it was just such a fun,
05:37fun dance.
05:38And I think they deserve to be at the top of the leaderboard.
05:41Yeah.
05:41Yeah.
05:42It really suited him, that style.
05:44Yeah, it did.
05:44You could see he was loving it, like the costumes, the suit.
05:46He did.
05:46Because he's such a ball of energy, isn't he?
05:48He's constantly giving out performance and energy and storytelling.
05:53And, like, you feel like Will doesn't hold back an inch.
05:56He gives 150,000% of himself to every dance that he's done on that show so far.
06:03You mentioned that some people start in the competition and you think they're going to be a frontrunner from day
06:09one.
06:09But there are other people who kind of grow across the process.
06:12Who would you say has had the biggest journey?
06:15Oh, wow.
06:16That's a tough one because there's been a few this year.
06:19Normally there's one really obvious one that you go, whoa, Fleur is just, I know that she came in and
06:25she was really a powerhouse of a performer.
06:28But, again, just to see what she delivered on week one to the Roomba that she just did this weekend.
06:34I don't think Fleur would have ever done that Roomba the way that she's done it now with those feet,
06:38with those lines, with that control, but at the same time expressiveness.
06:42Like, so she's definitely had a journey for me.
06:44I feel Helen is another one who's had a massive journey, both emotionally and her confidence and in her dancing.
06:52The Samba this weekend, even though she didn't get the highest scores, the Samba she did, her confidence in it.
06:58She was dancing all around.
07:00She was winking.
07:01She was throwing the sunglasses.
07:02She was being cheeky with gawks.
07:04Like, that is not something Helen would have ever done a couple of weeks into the competition, even.
07:10So, again, another beautiful moment for me to watch her kind of really blossoming into this confident, amazing dancer.
07:17And it really is, she said something in her VT on the show that really kind of touched my heart.
07:23And she said, you know, I thought this show was just about dancing.
07:26And it's just so much more.
07:28And it really hit the nail on the head for me of what Strictly is all about.
07:32You know, we're taking individuals who've never done anything like this before and helping them discover something about themselves that
07:39they didn't even know existed within them, you know.
07:42And they're growing as individuals.
07:43They're growing as human beings.
07:45And then at the same time, entertaining everybody at home with beautiful dancing.
07:49And, you know, I feel really, really happy to see that she's jumped in, all in to the whole experience.
07:55And she's grown so much from it.
07:57Yeah, 100%.
07:58And as you say, her Samba, the performance element of it, just really just shone through.
08:05It was just amazing.
08:06And Craig said he thought it fell a bit flat.
08:09I think he, I mean, I think he was just talking about the technique.
08:11But I think even if the technique wasn't 100%, do you think the fact that she had so much confidence
08:18and performance kind of carried her through?
08:20I think so, 100%.
08:22Because she, you know, technically, of course, you know, it's Samba.
08:26It's a very, very, very hard dance to do.
08:28And I think it's been, without sounding, well, I think especially for women, because you're in heels, you've got to
08:34wear these dresses, and you've got the big hair, and you're going like, oh, God, like, you know, you get
08:40a bit shy.
08:41So it's really hard, the Samba, in every way.
08:43You touched on Fleur's dance this week, which was amazing, and her controlled lines, and really harnessing that energy.
08:53They also spoke about her passion with her partner.
08:57What did you think about that?
08:58Oh, it was passionate, for sure.
09:02That's the kind of Roomba you want to see.
09:04Yeah.
09:05I mean, I love all kinds of Roombas.
09:08There's really, like, emotional ones that are more, like, about the passion, like the one we saw with Flambito.
09:13And then you have the more soft and, you know, more, almost lyrical Roombas that are a bit more balletic
09:19in nature.
09:20And then you've got the Roombas that are all about the hips and the shaking and the thing.
09:25But I think they nailed it, these two, this weekend, really well together, because she had gorgeous lines, she had
09:30gorgeous technique.
09:31Her feet and her ankles were sensational.
09:34But then the storytelling between the two of them, you could feel them really dancing as one.
09:40And that's what you want to see when you watch a Roomba.
09:42You want to feel two people moving across the floor as one.
09:45I mean, that is in every chance, really, to be honest.
09:48Fleur obviously found herself in the bottom two, and she's been in the bottom two a few times over the
09:52competition.
09:53Do you think she could be in trouble this week?
09:56Do you think there's, I mean, I suppose it's unpredictable, isn't it?
09:59You never really know it's going to go.
10:00But we're getting to that point where it's such a fierce competition now.
10:04And I'm just wondering, what do you think could happen this weekend?
10:07To say that she might be in trouble this weekend, I have no idea.
10:11I wouldn't even begin to tell you yes or no, because I would never have expected her to be in
10:16trouble in some of the times she's been in trouble in the past.
10:18So I just can't call it.
10:21But I guess that's what makes good telly.
10:23You know, it keeps us all on our toes.
10:24We just don't know what's going to happen ever.
10:27I think Roomba is a tough one.
10:29Roomba is always a hard job.
10:30Roomba and Samba are two of the hardest dances to do on Strictly.
10:32So you always get nervous when you know that you've got them because you want the audiences to go real.
10:37You want to stay in the competition.
10:38And it's technically so hard to deliver.
10:41So for her to be able to survive the Roomba and still be in this competition, although she was in
10:46the dance-off, it's kudos to her and Vito.
10:48They've done a brilliant job.
10:49Just one more question.
10:51Obviously, it's Musicals Week.
10:52So excited.
10:54Love Musicals Week so much.
10:55Is there anything you can tease about what's coming up?
10:59Do you know what?
10:59I wish I could.
11:00But because I'm no longer a pro, they don't tell me anything anymore.
11:03I'm like the proper fan now on It Takes Two.
11:06I sit down and I chat with them and I'm a fangirl now with all of them.
11:09I love it.
11:10I'll know a little bit more throughout the week because obviously on It Takes Two, we talk about costumes and
11:14we talk about the group numbers that they're going to be doing this weekend.
11:17But I would assume Expect Big because it's Musicals Week.
11:21We have an audience again.
11:23So I think it's going to be a really exciting week to watch the show.
11:28It's one of my favorite weekends of the show as well.
11:30So I'm excited.
11:31I only got to do, I think I only ever did one Musicals Week while I was still a pro.
11:36And so I was excited.
11:37I never got to do it again.
11:39But it is the most fun of the competition.
11:43Yeah.
11:43Yeah.
11:44Oh, can't wait.
11:44Can't wait.
11:45So excited.
11:46Oh, amazing.
11:46Well, thank you so much, Jeanette.
11:48Thanks so much for watching our Strictly Insider.
