00:17when I started my public life 12 years ago,
00:21I understood the media might be interested in what I did.
00:28But I was not aware of how overwhelming that attention would become,
00:35nor the extent to which it would affect both my public duties and my personal life.
00:44When I've completed my diary of official engagements,
00:49I will be reducing the extent of the public life I've led so far.
00:56Over the next few months, I will be seeking a more suitable way
01:01of combining a meaningful public role with hopefully a more private life.
01:09My first priority will continue to be our children, William and Harry.
01:19To the wider public, may I say, your kindness and affection has carried me through some of the most difficult
01:29periods.
01:30And always, your love and care has eased that journey.
01:36And for that, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
