00:09So I'd love today to discuss with you, firstly, your views and thoughts in the report,
00:16what you believe going forward should be our priorities, and perhaps how do we overcome
00:22some of the challenges going forward. But thank you again for your collective support
00:27on this initiative. Thank you, Alan. I just wanted to say hello to all of you and thank you so

00:35for being here today. I'm really excited to launch the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood
00:40and also to share our report, Big Change Starts and the View. Thank you also for the contribution
00:47towards this. You know, you've worked hugely so hard on it and I'm really so grateful I've got thoughts
00:55and feedback and I've learnt so much from so many of you here today about the importance
01:00of early childhood and how it shapes our future and life outcomes and what it is that our children
01:06need to thrive, to become happy and healthy. And some of you have been on this journey with
01:12me for quite some time, so thank you for your patience, for your guidance and support you
01:16for the years. And I'm very aware that you're a representation of many thousands of people
01:21up and down the country working really hard and tirelessly to raise our children today.
01:28So thank you for the hard work and it should never get underestimated further. So my hope
01:36today, through the report and through this new centre, to show that change really needs to
01:44happen and the time for action is an anomaly. Because I feel that this is the social equivalent
01:51to climate change where we've followed the science for many, many years and that is what
01:57we have to do with early childhood development if we want to build a happier, healthier world.
02:05The more we learn about early childhood and the first language of life, the greater imperative
02:12it is to act.
