00:05Hi and welcome back to another episode of the Hello Insider. This week we've seen some mega
00:11bombshells. Millie and Lucinda have completely shaken up the villa and you've guessed it,
00:17they've already turned some heads. We're lucky enough to be joined by 2019 contestant Amy Hart
00:22and she knows exactly what it's like to be in that villa and she's ready to talk about this
00:27year's antics. Hi Amy, it's so lovely to have you with us. Hello, thank you for letting me come on
00:34as a guest. No problem at all, we are so excited. I think we'll just dive straight in. What do
00:41you
00:41think about this series so far? I'm loving it, like I am first and foremost, before being an
00:47Islander, I am a huge fan of the show. So like series three, I was flying with BA at the
00:53time
00:53and everyone used to talk about it and I was like don't watch it, I don't know what you're talking
00:56about. I was one of those people. And then series four, everyone was like look, everyone's
01:02going to talk about it anyway, so you might as well know what's going on. Just watch the
01:05first episode and see what you think. So I took my iPad to the gym and like watched the
01:10first episode and I was like when's the next one? I need the next one. So yeah, so absolutely
01:15loved it. So the fact that it's back is amazing and I absolutely love this series. It's starting
01:20to hot up, the drama's starting to come, everyone moans that it's slow but it's always slow at
01:24the beginning. Yeah, no, I agree. It does take a while, doesn't it? You don't know the
01:28people yet. So I feel like now is probably the tipping point that things are starting
01:33to happen. There's been a few tears shed already. You obviously had your fair share of heartache
01:39in the villa. What would be your advice for some of the girls that might be kind of heading
01:44down that route at the moment?
01:47Just, you know, your friends are there. I remember once I went to the toilet to have a
01:51cry because I felt like I was bringing everyone down and Amber went mad and was like, why are
01:57you going to the toilet to cry? If you're going to cry, you cry with us. And so your friendships,
02:02that's why I always say to people, like I did that little thing before they all went into
02:05isolation. I said like, you know, if you're going in, like, you know, make sure you see
02:11the psych all the time when things are good because then you've already established a relationship
02:15when things go wrong. And I was like, I really value your friendships because that's
02:20like the main thing that I took from it was my friendships. And if you haven't got your
02:24friendships in there, when it all goes wrong, it's a very lonely place.
02:27Yeah. And talking about friendships, I suppose we've just seen Chloe make her move. Do you
02:35think that she's broken girl code? What's your kind of opinion on that situation?
02:41I think it's really sad. I get that you're in there to meet someone and I get that people
02:47grow on you over time. I put a tweet up last night saying, I get it, you might fancy him,
02:53but your mate's really into him. I think in there, like if, and loads of people replied saying
02:58they're not mates yet. And like, you don't understand, like, especially when you're in
03:03there from day one, you know, you do form these bonds really quickly. And I think if Kaz and Toby
03:09had split up and then Chloe had gone up to her and said, you know, I want to get to
03:14know him,
03:15that would have been hard, but it would have been different. Like the fact they were still
03:18together and, you know, Kaz still really liked him and he allegedly really liked Kaz.
03:23That was really hard. So yeah, I do, I do think I like Chloe, but if I was in there,
03:30I would call her out on the girl code break.
03:33What advice would you give to Kaz? Because obviously you just saw her so heartbroken last night.
03:39So it's Love Island, one door closes, another one opens, another boy coming in tonight.
03:44You know, they've all got Hugo, you know what I mean?
03:46Like, I feel like now the race, if Millie goes for Liam and Lucinda goes for Brad,
03:56the race is on for who's going to snag that friendship couple with Hugo to stay in.
04:02Because if there's another boy coming in, it's obviously, it's all a numbers game in Love Island.
04:06And obviously there's now another boy coming in, which means there's one more girl than boys,
04:11which means next recoupling, a girl will go home, potentially.
04:15Obviously, the format might change, but like numbers game wise, that is the way.
04:19And it's like, you know, you've got Sharon, you've got Kaz, you've got potentially Faye as well.
04:27Those three, and Rachel, all trying to vie for that friendship couple with Hugo.
04:35Yeah. How did you feel when you saw him standing on his own and nobody picked him in the challenge?
04:41Just pick him. Like, it's not, like, it's really sad. Really, really sad.
04:45I was like, why did nobody pick him?
04:48I like him. He's the nicest one in there.
04:50And like, you know, like, I felt like, like Sharon, Aaron didn't deserve your lap dance.
04:57Give it to Hugo.
04:58Yeah, I felt like they were trying to do the whole look what you're missing thing.
05:03But then I think on social media, that kind of backfired for them.
05:06Because people were like, oh, we'll just do the friendship thing with Hugo and everybody was really...
05:10Yeah, I mean, Sharon's lap dance was the best.
05:13And the fact that she went in to kiss him and then gave him a kiss on the cheek.
05:16I was like, yes, girl. Yes, that's amazing.
05:19But yeah, Hugo stood there on his own.
05:22And I mean, that's how one of them could have got the friendship couple.
05:25Yeah, they could have sealed the deal there.
05:27They were not playing the game, were they?
05:30No.
05:30Do you think anyone is?
05:32Well, this is what I was about to say.
05:33So when I was in there, I used to get so angry about people playing a game.
05:37They're playing a game, they're playing it.
05:38It's a game show at the end of the day.
05:42And so you can't really be angry at people for playing a game.
05:46I think potentially Chloe's got a good strategy.
05:51Or maybe not a good strategy, she's been dealt a good hand.
05:53Because obviously she had the power in the first instance.
05:56Then she's managed to form a friendship couple with Hugo.
05:59And sort of went zero to hero in 0-60 by saving Hugo.
06:04I think Jake is playing a game.
06:07Because he knows he's safe right now.
06:09But the whole, oh, for another blonde comes in.
06:12I'm like, what is going on here?
06:14Why are we having this conversation, like, every single episode?
06:18So I do really feel for Liberty because I feel like something might slip up there.
06:21I feel like he is so quick to tell anyone who will listen.
06:25He doesn't fancy Liberty.
06:27That, you know, his head could be turned.
06:30And then as soon as she says to him, like, look, I'm not going to give you 110%.
06:34When she did that last night, I was like, yes, come on.
06:36And when she said that, he was like, no.
06:39Why would I, why would I, like, sacrifice what we have?
06:42And I'm like, when I was in there, like, around this time.
06:46Actually, no, because by this point we were half boyfriend and girlfriend.
06:50But, which is so crazy when you watch it now and you think we're not even at the end of
06:54week two.
06:56But when I remember Anton saying to me, like, you're fine, you're fine with her.
07:01He said it would literally take someone exceptional to turn his head.
07:05And everyone's like, oh, that's nice.
07:07Me and Amber are like that.
07:08What?
07:10What?
07:11Someone exceptional.
07:12So I just kept using the word exceptional in a sentence.
07:16Have you spoken to the boys?
07:17And I was like, yep.
07:18Do you think if you were to have your time again in the villa, you would do things differently or
07:23you were quite happy with?
07:25I think I would just try and chill out a bit.
07:27And I think I'm a very different person now.
07:29Obviously, I had a lot of therapy after Love Island.
07:31And everyone thinks that it's because of Love Island.
07:34I was very lucky that ITV provided the aftercare.
07:38Because it turns out that I had lots of things that I lived my life by pre-Love Island that
07:44were then enhanced by Love Island.
07:46So then I'm a very different person now.
07:48But now I think it's really weird.
07:51So I feel like my sort of mental health issues were the reason that I was so ridiculous and so,
07:59like, flamboyant and stuff.
08:01Because I always thought that I wasn't good enough.
08:02So I had to put on, like, a show.
08:04So I feel like I don't know now whether in my new, settled, more confident, chilled-out persona, I don't
08:10know whether I'd get on Love Island now.
08:12But I feel like I would have such a different experience, like, with the person I am now.
08:17But it's easy to say that when you're out here, when you're in there.
08:20Like, when Sharon was crying the other night, and people were like, why is she crying?
08:24It's like, everything in there is times 100.
08:27Like, that's your whole life.
08:28Like, if you think when you're in real life, you have your family, you have your friends, you have your
08:32work, you have your hobbies,
08:33you have your, like, sort of day-to-day chores you have to do, you have TV, you have social
08:38media.
08:38Your whole life is that garden, that bedroom, that dressing room, and those 10 people.
08:44That's your whole life.
08:45A lot of people have seen that Rachel's gone a lot more quiet and she's become quite sensitive to the
08:50situation when she came in and was really confident.
08:52And I'm like, I can imagine it's so overwhelming, especially when she really liked Brad and he's been playing 50
08:59million games.
09:00Yeah, I think as well, like, you've got to remember, it's such a build-up.
09:04Like, I don't think people did it as much to me.
09:07But, like, so I made my video in the October.
09:10Applications opened in the January, so I sent it off.
09:13I had, like, an audition at the end of January.
09:15I had a follow-up in, like, February.
09:17I had another one in April.
09:19So then, and I was very, like, I feel like I manifested it inadvertently because not manifesting was at the
09:24time.
09:25But I wasn't, like, I'm going to apply for Love Island to see if I get on.
09:28I was, like, I'm going to Love Island this year.
09:30I'm going to Love Island this year.
09:31It's such a build-up.
09:32You're in the gym every day.
09:34You know, I was on, like, a really strict meal plan, you know.
09:36Me and my best friend, my best friend took four days off work to, like, go through all my social
09:40media with me to, like, pick all my outfits for me, like, pack my cases, et cetera.
09:46It's such a build-up.
09:47And the first day is format point, format point.
09:49Like, you know, you get off the back of the jeep, you go in, you meet the girls, then the
09:53presenter comes in, then the boys come down, then you have the party, then the bombshells come in, like, everything.
09:58Then you go to the beach hut for the first time.
10:00Everything is such a format point.
10:02I woke up morning two.
10:05It was pitch black.
10:06I woke up, looked around.
10:08I was, like, I can't be here for another, like, 59 days.
10:11This is horrendous.
10:13Went upstairs to the beach hut and cried my eyes out.
10:15I was, like, I want to go home.
10:16Once I'd done that and got it out, I was, like, oh, no, I'm all right here.
10:19But it was just quite overwhelming that first day when you go, oh, wait, no, this is real.
10:23Like, this is what I've seen on telly.
10:25Do you think there's anything else that you would know about the villa that the public don't know?
10:31Obviously, showering, when there's 16 or 18 of you in there, like, especially after Casa
10:36Amor, and you've got two hours to get ready and there's one shower, that's why you send
10:40the boys outside.
10:43And, like, in the end, you have to sort of, like, they go, right, shower, and someone shouts
10:46first, and you're, like, second, third, fourth.
10:49So, like, sometimes, if you're last in the shower queue, you have to, so there's, like, a rain shower
10:57and, like, a body shower.
10:58So, like, once I was last in the shower queue, so I was, like, I'm literally going to have
11:0315 minutes to get ready.
11:05So what I did was, did my hair and makeup, and then body showered, like, with my hair
11:11and makeup done, because, like, there's always no one going to be ready.
11:15It's just the system.
11:16You can only see an hour, but there is so much going on.
11:20Yeah, and, like, with the bath, everyone's like, why don't you have a bath?
11:23Like, our bath, when Jake was having a bath every day, I was looking at it thinking, so
11:27obviously we had, like, so the first challenge we did was when you had to go down the ramp
11:33into the slime.
11:34So we had trainers and bikinis covered in slime in the bath.
11:38Then the next task was the food fight.
11:39So we had disgusting wedding dresses covered in bean juice and ketchup and just horrendousness
11:47in the bath.
11:48Then we had, like, the pancake task.
11:51So our bath was just always full of disgusting remnants of whatever task we'd just done.
11:58And the girls with the paint in their hair the other day this early on as well.
12:04So I had extensions in that went pink when they got sun cream on them.
12:08I was trying so hard.
12:09Then one day I just got it on there.
12:11So I had my top of my hair was, like, white from the sun.
12:15Then the bit here was where I was trying to use purple shampoo to get rid of the pink.
12:19So it was, like, blue.
12:20And then the bottom of my hair was pink.
12:22So literally, like, a fab lolly.
12:25Like, horrendous.
12:26And I watched it, and, like, every time a New Islander came in, I was like, can you see
12:28that my hair's pink on TV?
12:30And they're like, no, no, no, no.
12:31I've, like, watched bits back.
12:32And I'm like, my hair is horrendous.
12:35And I wish I'd gone in with short hair now.
12:38Maybe that's, like, your one thing you would change, you would go in with short hair.
12:43Just because, you know, everyone's got long hair.
12:46My first shoot after I came out of the villa, I worked for a makeup artist called Marcos,
12:49who I still work with now.
12:50He's this big Portuguese guy.
12:52He's like, darling, will you do something for me?
12:54And I was, like, thinking he wanted me to tag him on Instagram.
12:56And I'm like, yeah, of course.
12:57He's like, can we get rid of all of this?
12:59Can we get rid of all of this?
13:01And I was like, no.
13:03I was like, my hair is awful.
13:04It's ratty.
13:04He's like, no, I'll get you some tapes, like, when we cut it short.
13:07There has been quite a debate about the word fake.
13:12Obviously, it got brought up with Hugo mentioning it quite a lot.
13:17Yeah, what's your take on the whole kind of argument that then ensued in the villa?
13:23Oh, right.
13:24Okay, so maybe he shouldn't have said it, but I think it's what your, so what your sort
13:30of perception is, because to Hugo, the girls might not look fake.
13:37You know, you see, like, people like the Bride of Wildenstein and stuff, like, people who
13:42have gone, like, to the massive extremes.
13:43That could be, in his head, what he thinks.
13:48Also, but then on the flip side, they've all said, I wouldn't date someone that wore
13:52white jeans.
13:53I only date tall guys.
13:56You know, like, I can't remember, someone else said something.
14:00Oh, if a guy doesn't tan, then I couldn't possibly date him.
14:03And I think, like, you know, someone might be really insecure about how pale they are, and,
14:09you know, or their height.
14:11And that's like, so it's all right to say that.
14:13But as well, I think them lecturing Hugo about what it was like to grow up not feeling comfortable
14:19in your body when he has literally got a disability.
14:22He's literally grown up with the disability, was a bit like, what?
14:29So yeah, I do think it was, but again, everything's blown out proportionally, you've got nothing
14:33else to think about.
14:35So as soon as something happens, you're like, oh, brilliant.
14:38This is something that we can actually talk about.
14:39It's actually something we can do.
14:40Do you think that when they, like, leave the villain, then watch that back and think, why did
14:46I say that, why did we go in on him so much?
14:49I think as well, like, just with how feminism is these days and stuff, I do think that you
14:59do, especially as, like, strong, empowered women that, like, Faye and Sharon are, they
15:04do have a sort of responsibility to call things out like that.
15:08So I can understand that you're, they're sort of between a rock and a hard place, because
15:13if they didn't, it'd be like, well, you didn't stick up for yourself.
15:16Like, they said, but you didn't stick up for yourself.
15:18What are you doing?
15:18And then other people are like, oh, you've gone too far.
15:21So I think you are, you don't know.
15:22And also, that, if you think, was probably five minutes of the 24-hour day.
15:28They probably didn't even think about it the next day, apart from when Aaron brought it
15:31up.
15:32Like, but to us, it was like a whole sort of, like, chunk of the episode.
15:38So yeah, they probably watched it back on me a bit like, oh, okay, that was, that was
15:42bigger than it was.
15:43But, you know, you have to own what you're doing there.
15:47Then, yesterday's episode, we saw Faye say that all they talk about in there is each
15:52other, rather than, like, the real world.
15:54Is that, like, true?
15:55Is that what it was like?
15:56Yeah, that's what I mean.
15:57Like, so, you know, that's your whole life.
16:00That garden, what's going on?
16:02You've got nothing else to talk about.
16:04So you don't, like, get to know each other?
16:07I don't know.
16:07You know, you do.
16:08Like, we used to sit and be like, right, okay, who can remember everyone's parents' names?
16:12Someone would go around and say, like, okay, so you've got Vanessa and Earl is Amber, as
16:17he and Sue is Amy, Debbie and Adrian is Curtis.
16:22Like, you know, you'd go around and, like, who could remember?
16:25And then who could remember everyone's siblings' names?
16:27And then who could remember everyone's surnames?
16:28Like, you know, you've got, sort of do stuff like that.
16:31And you do talk about, like, you talk about everything.
16:33Like, you know, Christmas morning routine and stuff.
16:36You've got lots of time to talk about it.
16:37But that's talking about each other as well.
16:40Do you know what I mean?
16:40Everything is centred on that villa.
16:42Because by, sort of, week three or four, like, so one of my best friends, Rhiannon, looks
16:47like Anna.
16:48By about week three, I couldn't picture Rhiannon's face.
16:53Every time I tried to picture Rhiannon, all I could see was Anna.
16:57And it was really strange.
16:59It was really strange.
17:00It's, like, sort of, like, you're in a bit of a commune.
17:03And then when I got home, it was really strange because I couldn't, people were asking me
17:07at the time, and I think it might be my brain trying to block it all out.
17:10But I have the best long-term memory ever.
17:13Like, my friends are like, how do you, like, my friends will ask me questions.
17:15Like, how long was I with that boy for?
17:17And I'm like, you look this long.
17:20And so when I got home, people asked me questions.
17:22And I was like, I can't really remember.
17:24I can't really remember.
17:26Because it's such a parallel universe.
17:28When I got home, I couldn't remember anything.
17:29But it's all come back now.
17:31Did you watch back the whole series?
17:33Like, you go to home?
17:37I stopped.
17:38I started, like, one night, I couldn't sleep.
17:39Because you're on, like, a Love Island time zone.
17:40You don't go to bed till 6am.
17:42So when you get home, everyone else goes, obviously, with your family, goes to bed at, like, 10.
17:46I was still awake at, like, 5.
17:48So, like, one night, I was watching, like, select bits in the hub.
17:52And it got to, like, the half-boyfriend, half-girlfriend bit.
17:56And I was like, do you know what, actually?
17:57I feel like this is probably the end of, like, me looking good.
18:01So I'm going to stop watching now.
18:03Because it would just upset me.
18:06Everybody is obviously waiting for Casa Amor.
18:09I think everybody's like, when's it coming?
18:13Do you think any of the couples that are already paired up would survive the wrath of Casa Amor?
18:19No, I really don't.
18:25I think Brad, if Brad could survive Casa Amor, he could pull it back.
18:31I think, I don't, I don't think, I don't think Lucinda and Millie will have watched any of it.
18:37Or very little of it.
18:40Because I feel like Brad is an obviously popular sort of, but then I feel like this year, I don't
18:46know.
18:46I've been going on Twitter every night.
18:48I don't think there's any, normally there's, like, you know, this person, get them out, get them out type thing.
18:53This year, I don't feel like there is anyone like that.
18:56There's no sort of, you know, any sort of strong feelings about, like, everyone's sort of, hopefully people are being
19:04kinder.
19:05But if Brad can survive Casa Amor, I think he could claw it back, like, and be a good person.
19:12But I don't, I really don't know.
19:13But I don't know if they'll do Casa Amor this year, because there's a lot of people to be mixing.
19:18So, Amy, if you were forced to choose to couple up with one boy in the villa who's there now,
19:25who would it be?
19:28Oh, Liam's lovely, but obviously he's very young.
19:30I'm very elderly.
19:32So, Liam's very young, but he's obviously really fit.
19:35I can't really understand what he says a lot of the time.
19:38Um, I would probably, I'd probably go for Hugo.
19:43Justice for Hugo, guys.
19:45I don't understand why no one's picking him.
19:49Are we not seeing something?
19:51I don't know.
19:51This is a thing.
19:52You never know, do you?
19:53Because you're not in there.
19:54When we're seeing, we're seeing the edited version.
19:56We're seeing sort of what the narrative is.
19:59You don't know.
20:00Who are you kind of rooting to get the whole way to the final?
20:03Liberty.
20:03Liberty.
20:05Yeah, just because, um, she's lovely.
20:09She's wearing a hat on her sleeve and she's just going all in, doing what you should do.
20:12Like, I say, like, you know, when you're in Love Island, if you're happy, be happy.
20:16If you're sad, be sad.
20:17If you want to cry, cry.
20:19Like, that's, that's sort of how people realise how genuine you are, is just to be yourself.
20:24Do you have a WhatsApp group with your series?
20:28No, nobody ever posts in it.
20:32But it's there.
20:32I speak to Anna and Amber in your one day, and then occasionally Molly, and Joanna and Fran.
20:40Um, and that's it really.
20:44I've worked with her a couple of times, which is always, like, fun.
20:47We get on, like, well, I just wind them up all day.
20:50Your cast was very, like, there was more banter and stuff at the early stage, because a lot
20:57of people are saying, where's, like, the fun side to everything?
21:00Everyone's just doing their own thing.
21:03It's like, where's the banter?
21:04Where are the strong friendships?
21:06Yeah, but I mean, I think it's a different dynamic, because we all sort of knew, we didn't know,
21:13obviously, but you sort of know the format of Love Island is that nobody goes home till
21:18the end of week one.
21:19We sort of had, like, that, like I say, that first week is like a year.
21:25So, we had all that time, whereas as soon as Shannon got dumped on 92, like, it was episode
21:30three for us, but, like, she hadn't even been in the villa 48 hours, and she got dumped.
21:35I think everyone's sort of gone, right, okay, they're not playing around this year, like,
21:39we've got to get this done.
21:41So, um, people are now like, yeah, all right, it's a game show, it's Love Island, I need
21:46to sort of crack on.
21:48A lot of rumours that she might come back, but I feel like they wouldn't.
21:52She's got to isolate again for two weeks.
21:54Yeah, because she did an interview, like, she's back in the UK, so I was like, surely
21:58they wouldn't do it.
21:59Yeah, she's back in the UK, so I said, like, if she's going to go back in, they'll keep
22:04her in Spain, because they're not going to bring her back, and then send her out again
22:09to isolate for another day.
22:10Well, they might, you don't know.
22:11Very interesting what you're saying about maybe not doing Casa Amor.
22:14They will really have to put their thinking hats on and think of something epic to replace
22:19it, if that's the case.
22:21Yeah, maybe some sort of, like, dating app on the phones, that's what I would do.
22:26Ooh, maybe it works for the team.
22:28How exciting.
22:30They all download a dating app, and the people are in the hotel, and they've got, like, three
22:37days to be chatting to people, and they can video call them and stuff, and then they decide
22:40if they want to bring them into the villa or not.
22:43There we go.
22:45You heard it so fast.
22:46That's my idea, and that's why I'm destined to be a TV producer, honey.
22:50Now, you have been very busy, Amy.
22:52What, tell us, so what have you been up to of late?
22:55What projects are you working on?
22:56Well, I'm doing panto, so I'm sort of starting, getting ready for that now, like, having my
23:02singing lessons, learning my script, etc.
23:04Well, thank you so much for your time.
23:06It's been amazing.
23:08Thanks for watching, guys, and keep your eyes peeled for our next episode.
