00:00I know we see a lot more of it on the Balmoral Estate now.
00:03When I was competing, and we used to come up to Scotland to two or three competitions up here,
00:11we were always warned not to let the horses graze because grass sickness was rampant in Scotland,
00:16and it was considered to be something that you didn't see anywhere else.
00:19And yet the history of grass sickness goes back to the early days, to the origins of the modern.
00:25It's an old disease, but it's been unbelievably difficult to pin down.
00:32And here we are a century later, and we're still going around some of the boys again
00:37to see if there isn't something more we can, more information we can get at,
00:42whether we can identify where those areas of weakness are that make it possible for grass sickness to appear.
00:50It is still a seriously difficult disease to get a gripple.
00:53And I hope this new research fellowship will encourage people to understand just how important it still is.
