00:00So, top tips. You need top tips for your schoolers.
00:04Five. Okay, well my first one would be, don't ever call yourself a teacher because you're not.
00:08You are facilitating their learning. If our kids ask us something and we don't know, say we don't know.
00:14Let's find out. And that works.
00:16Number two would be, don't observe the school timetable.
00:20You can learn at any time of the day, any day of the week.
00:23So break the rules there. Don't be locked into a school timetable.
00:27Like sometimes if I'm busy all day on a Thursday, I'll move Kiki's Learning to a Saturday. It's fine.
00:33Try and have fun. Just try and have fun.
00:37And remember that a school day is a long day because there's a lot of other stuff that goes on.
00:43They can do the same amount in a couple of hours a day.
00:45Number four, I would say turn whatever you're going through, whatever's happening in the world, into a learning experience.
00:51I mean, the best one we've been gifted, unfortunately, is coronavirus and COVID.
00:55More recently, Black Lives Matter. Turn whatever's happening in the news into a multi-faceted learning opportunity.
01:03Get into something that they're really into.
01:05If you've never listened to their music before, just ask them about it.
01:08If you've never played a computer game before, play it. What do you say about computer games, Mark?
01:11Oh my God, they require so much mental agility. It's ridiculous.
01:15And if you're into some of the stuff they're into and you're not poo-pooing it, they're more likely to
01:19listen to you about other stuff.
01:20Exactly. There's a little bit of bribery in there too.
01:23And also just feel really blessed that you get to spend this time with your children because, I tell you
01:27what, there's enough drought fast.
