00:00My name is Dexter.
00:02Dexter Morgan.
00:03I don't know what made me the way I am,
00:05but whatever it was left a hollow place inside.
00:10Wow, 10 years.
00:12It's amazing.
00:13People often come up and say,
00:15hey, man, favorite serial killer.
00:17And it's like, do you have a list?
00:28Tonight's the night, and it's going to happen again and again.
00:31In the first season, it was just so deliciously awkward
00:35and tense and brutal.
00:37We were doing something that hadn't quite been done,
00:40inviting people to root for a serial killer.
00:43What are you doing now?
00:45I'm just finishing up a little project,
00:47but I'll come by later.
00:48It's a real trick because it's subjectively told
00:51and you're always in his head.
00:53I know I'm a monster.
00:54You're sort of the silent accomplice.
00:57You can't be a killer and a hero.
01:01It doesn't work that way!
01:03Playing the part, I appreciated how much fans
01:07were in Dexter's corner.
01:09This is who I am.
01:11The fact that he's doing people in who deserve it
01:15is a key.
01:16Why'd you kill Janet?
01:18Do you know how expensive a divorce is?
01:20Really?
01:22It was a really liberating experience.
01:26Hello, Dexter Morgan.
01:29As far as my sense of the character goes,
01:31the further we went in the show,
01:34the further we were from where it began.
01:37And the places the character went were places
01:40that I couldn't have imagined him going when we started.
01:43Dexter, you can't do this!
01:44I can.
01:45And I will.
01:49If you are able to work as an actor,
01:52you kind of feel like you're getting away with something.
01:55And when I was playing Dexter,
01:57I felt like I was getting away with something
01:59while getting away with something.
02:01I think Dexter's Dark Passenger is still with him.
02:06To be continued-
02:09To be continued...
02:13You
