00:00no one's blaming anybody that's the way that i look at it no one's pointing the fingers
00:03it's but you can't really point the fingers especially when it comes to unconscious bias
00:07but once you realize or you feel a little bit uncomfortable then the onus is on you to go out
00:12and and educate yourself as much because ignorance is no longer an excuse and unconscious bias from
00:19my understanding you know having had the the upbringing and the and the education that i had i
00:24i had no idea that what it was i had no idea it existed and then you know sad as
00:30it is to say
00:30it took me many many years to to to realize it especially then living a day or a week in
00:39my
00:39wife's shoes you have to be willing to to listen and have the conversation have those uncomfortable
00:46conversations because it is an uncomfortable conversation and i totally get it especially
00:51for you know a white person yeah it's for me it's down to a more diverse perspective otherwise
00:57you're just perpetuating that bias and i think the one of the most dangerous things is is people
01:03within positions of power whether it's politics or whether it's the media where if you're not aware
01:10of your own bias and you're not aware of the culture within your within your system everyone benefits
01:16if the black community are treated the way they should be treated exactly every day is a learning
01:21process it's not actually up for debate
