00:00Hey everyone, I just wanted to take a moment of your time today.
00:05I know I've been on and off social media these past few weeks.
00:10I needed a little bit of a break.
00:12It's felt really nice, but I just want to let you know I have been engaged and I have been
00:16doing my part,
00:17even if I'm not promoting it on social media.
00:20Hope you guys are all staying safe out there and still trying to follow the rules.
00:26As I know, we all know we're still in the midst of a pandemic right now and COVID-19 is
00:31still very much out there.
00:33And that's kind of something I wanted to talk to you all about today.
00:40I have come to terms with some news today that I was called this morning by the hospital that I
00:49got tested at for COVID-19.
00:52And I did test positive.
00:55Now, this wasn't a shock to me per se, because for over this past week, I have had COVID-19
01:05symptoms.
01:06And I just want to say I have been really cautious.
01:09I've been social distancing.
01:12I really only go out to go get the groceries or things of that nature.
01:16And I always wear a mask and I always sanitize.
01:22I have unfortunately seen a lot of people, though, around me who have not been abiding by the rules.
01:29And that scares me because a lot of people, I think, are over it, which I know we all are.
01:35But that should not leave us thinking that this is something to be political or that not wearing a mask
01:42just means you're invincible as well.
01:44And a lot of people have different symptoms or are asymptomatic altogether.
01:49So I think it's really hard times right now to comprehend really what's happening, especially if it doesn't affect you.
02:00But I hope that I could at least help one person today with this personal testament, because over this past
02:06week, I have fallen really ill, a lot of flu-like symptoms.
02:10But specifically, on the night of July 4th, I started to feel a scratchy throat and not 100% myself,
02:22you know, just like a little off, a little tired, things like that.
02:26And that night, I became restless.
02:27I started to feel fevers coming on, chills and aches in my body really bad.
02:34I woke up and I did have a fever, started creeping into the hundreds.
02:39And I had a fever pretty consistently for about three or four days.
02:45I tried to treat it with Tylenol, as has been advised.
02:49So that helped a little bit on and off.
02:51I tried to rest as much as possible and really just Netflix.
02:55Take it easy.
02:56I did not lose my sense of smell or taste.
02:59My appetite was a little bit less than it usually is.
03:02And I monitored that.
03:03Tried to drink a lot of water to flush it out.
03:05Take my vitamins.
03:07Vitamin C booster shots.
03:09Things like that.
03:10And I tried to take Pedialyte because then I started developing migraines and headaches lingering throughout the days.
03:20My worst migraine was on July 9th when I got tested for COVID.
03:26It was just super debilitating and just like boom hits you and just constant right here, right here in this
03:36area of my head on my forehead.
03:38You know, I could count probably on my hand how many times I've had a migraine in my life.
03:42And usually I just try to sleep it off.
03:44And just that usually cures it.
03:47I try to fall asleep on and off.
03:48Really the only thing that helped comfort me a little bit was ice pack.
03:53And I tried to sleep as much as I could.
03:55It was just pretty excruciating and exhausting.
04:00I still am feeling just a little bit off.
04:05I felt a lot better though since Friday this week.
04:10And I have felt fatigue and just a little bit of headaches.
04:16A lot of pressure, kind of tightness.
04:18Last night I kind of woke up with some jaw pain a little bit.
04:22Maybe from clenching, from being stressed.
04:24But also a little bit of inner ear.
04:27Just off achiness.
04:30But I do think I am on the up and up.
04:32And I just want to advise that I am feeling okay.
04:35And I know that I think the worst is behind me.
04:40But we don't know for a fact.
04:42So I'm keeping precautious and trying to do what I can to rest and nurture myself back to health.
04:49That I've really been working hard these past years to build my immune system.
04:53And I know I am on the younger side to really fight this.
04:56So for that I'm really thankful.
04:59But the biggest symptom I've read and that has worried me a lot is it's a respiratory virus.
05:05And I have struggled with asthma pretty much my whole life.
05:10I've grown out of it a lot in my adult life.
05:11But I still have inhalers.
05:13So those have been on standby.
05:16But thankfully I have not had to use them.
05:18And I have had no respiratory or sinus issues.
05:22Really at all.
05:23Except the headache that kind of trickled into this area.
05:28So I'm really thankful for that.
05:31But you know I've been worried if and when I would ever contract this virus.
05:37You don't think it's really ever going to happen to you.
05:40And I thought I was being very very cautious.
05:42But that just goes to show you that we don't know.
05:44We don't know enough.
05:47And even if we are young and resilient to fight it off.
05:50I don't wish it on anyone.
05:51And we don't know how each of our bodies is going to handle it.
05:55So I am a survivor.
05:57I'm getting through this.
05:58And I'm so thankful for that.
06:00But I just wanted to share this with you.
06:03To give you a little bit of a warning or a peace of mind.
06:08And I'm here if anyone has any questions that I can answer from personally going through this just right now.
06:15And any comfort that I can bring.
06:18You know I just wanted to come out with this private information.
06:23Not really to share it so much.
06:26Because it is private.
06:28And you know I could be hard on yourself and think of it as a failure.
06:32But I'm really trying not to.
06:33You know I am thankful.
06:36And I know in my heart that sharing this with you all right now hopefully is at least helping and
06:43impacting one person.
06:45This virus does not discriminate.
06:47I have lost friends to this virus.
06:51There's been a lot of loss this last year.
06:55And it's been really hard.
06:59We're all human beings.
07:01I know a lot of us will get it.
07:04It might have symptoms might not.
07:06It's scary.
07:07And I just want everyone especially in the United States right now to really take it seriously.
07:12And let's try to solve this issue and get through this.
07:16It's only for right now.
07:17We have to wear the mask, sanitize, social distance.
07:19It's not going to be forever.
07:21But it will continue to persist long if we don't take that proper action now.
07:28And take it seriously.
07:29It's not political.
07:30It's about health.
07:32And without our health we earn nothing.
07:36So I hope that we can rally together, get on the same page, and do what we can to eliminate
07:42this.
07:44And get back to hugging each other and being there with one another physically.
07:51I know we have to social distance right now, but we don't have to emotional distance.
07:55And I am here.
07:56I am okay.
07:58I'm surviving this right now.
08:02I just hope that this video can help someone today.
08:06And I love you all.
08:08I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy out there.
08:11And hopefully is getting some peace of mind and rest from this crazy, crazy time.
08:18Lots of love.
08:19Bye.
