The Duchess of Cornwall has sent a message of support to the British Flowers Week initiative which celebrates British flower growers and florists. Run by New Covent Garden Market, British Flowers Week is asking the public to join in the celebrations by placing British-grown flowers in their windows, front porch or gate where passers-by can see them.

00:00In these difficult times, when we are all searching for something to brighten our lives,
00:06there is nothing that can lift our spirits more than our native flowers and plants.
00:11They are nature's healers.
00:13In our gardens, in our window boxes or even in just a simple vase,
00:19their glorious scents and myriad of colours are veritable life enhancers.
00:25That is why, this year in particular, British Flower Week is even more important than ever.
00:32As the patron of floral angels who are based at the market,
00:37I would like to say a huge thank you to the new Covent Garden Market and the Garden Museum
00:43for making this celebration of the wealth and variety of British grown flowers possible
00:49and to the people behind them, the growers, the gardeners, the florists
00:54and everyone who appreciates our beauty and their contribution to our wellbeing.
01:01Keep safe and say it with flowers.
