00:00Alright, there's so much anticipation leading up to this new film.
00:04What are you most excited for fans to see?
00:07I'm just excited to see, I'm excited for fans to see the extension of the first film.
00:14I'm excited because in the first film it was, you know, they were a fake couple falling in love.
00:19And in this film they get to be a very real couple.
00:23But of course there has to be a little bit of a plot, otherwise nobody would want to watch it.
00:27And you get to see them as a real couple being challenged by a very real circumstance.
00:33Ergo, John Ambrose.
00:35And for the fans that are diehards of the book series,
00:41I'm just so excited for them to be able to see the second installment acting out as a film.
00:48You know, I'm sure, I've read series and seen series and book turn to films.
00:54And it's very exciting, so I'm just happy to be able to bring something like that to some people.
01:02In what ways has your character Peter changed from the first film to the second?
01:06And in what ways has he changed to the same?
01:09Or stayed the same?
01:10I feel like Peter's pretty similar throughout the first and the second.
01:15He makes similar mistakes in the second.
01:21I think his arc is more so understanding the gravity and the realness that comes with a relationship.
01:31That you must sometimes break someone's heart.
01:35That relationships are not always just fun and games and perfect.
01:40And, oh, so great.
01:41They're hard.
01:42You've got to work at them.
01:43You've got to communicate.
01:44You've got to go through rough patches.
01:48And I think he ups his romance game in this one, too.
01:53There are a few new faces in the film, most notably Jordan Fisher and Ross Butler.
01:58Tell me what it was like working with them.
02:00I've known Ross for a little while.
02:02I actually lived with Ross for two months.
02:04And then a year later, or a couple months later, he was like, I'm going to come to Vancouver and
02:08be in your film.
02:09And that was really, really exciting.
02:11And then Jordan I've known since I was 15.
02:13So having two people that I'm friends with come and hang out in Vancouver, they just knock it out of
02:20the park.
02:21I mean, when you see this film, I swoon every time Jordan comes on camera and I die laughing every
02:26time Ross is on camera.
02:28Ross is just the king of the one-liners.
02:30Did you see it?
02:31Yes.
02:32It's so funny.
02:33He is ridiculous.
02:35Yeah, he's so good.
02:38You filmed the second and third films back to back.
02:41What was it like reuniting with everyone and spending all that time with them?
02:44It was like summer camp.
02:46It was like summer camp.
02:47Jordan was really good at getting us together.
02:49Jordan would host game nights.
02:51And we would just go over there and play games and get together and connect and laugh and exchange stories.
02:57It really created a warm and ever-present sense of camaraderie amongst all of us.
03:06To all the boys isn't your typical teen rom-com.
03:09What do you think makes this story so appealing?
03:13Hmm.
03:15Well, you know, of course, everyone's speaking about representation.
03:20You know, it's not every day that, you know, people break stereotypes.
03:25So when the first film came out, I think it was a big win.
03:28Crazy Rich Asians did the same thing.
03:30But it's so unfortunate that that's something that needs to be broken, you know, and it's not normalized already.
03:35But there's something very special about the films that push the agendas and push and break vanguards to new territory.
03:44And so I think that's one of the reasons it's very special.
03:47Another, it's so stylized.
03:49It looks interesting.
03:50It's like, it's pop, the colors pop.
03:55And it's a very digestible, inhalable way of sharing true romance.
04:04What do you hope audiences will feel or take away from the film?
04:08Hopefully that you can form a concrete belief and then have that belief taken away or destroyed somehow.
04:18And it be for the better.
04:20Team Peter or Team John Ambrose?
04:23Man, I'm Team Peter for now.
04:25But I'm Team John Ambrose for the endgame.
