00:04In September 2019, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex embarked on a 10-day tour of Southern Africa,
00:10a region that holds a special place in both their hearts.
00:14Africa means so much to Harry and Meghan because it's the first place that he went to
00:20following his mother's death in 1997. It was a time for him to reflect
00:25and to take in his grief with his father and his brother Prince William.
00:31And for the couple themselves, it's a place where their romance really blossomed.
00:36During their engagement interview in 2017, he spoke about how they took some time off
00:42and they went to Botswana and they camped out under the stars
00:46and that's when he knew that Meghan was the one for him.
00:50The tour gave the royal couple a chance to highlight issues close to them,
00:54such as gender equality, mental health stigma and the environment.
00:59Harry and Meghan's main message for their trip to Southern Africa was to really establish
01:05what they're going to do with their upcoming charity, Sussex Royal,
01:10and to really set out the key themes that they want to concentrate within that charity organisation.
01:17Everything is in balance. We're the only thing that's putting everything out of balance
01:21because we are literally driving ourselves to extinction.
01:25The moment millions of royal fans had been waiting for came in Cape Town
01:30where we got to see a playful baby Archie.
01:33In the lead up to the tour, we weren't too sure whether we were going to get a glimpse of
01:38the four-month-old Tot.
01:40But they actually surprised us all when they revealed his presence on Instagram stories.
01:47There were some lovely pictures and footage of Archie meeting Archbishop Desmond Tutu
01:52and his daughter Leah, in which Leah said, he's a ladies' man.
01:58Oh, you like the ladies' better, yeah.
02:01Prince Harry also made a very personal journey to Angola, retracing the steps of his mother, Princess Diana.
02:09For Harry, this was a really poignant visit, this particular solo visit to Huambo and Angola.
02:18We saw him detonating mines, wearing the same protective gear from the Halo truss that his mother wore.
02:27After some time alone, Harry even said how emotional it was going back to the street that his mother once
02:33walked through
02:34and to see it now a thriving community.
02:37If she hadn't have campaigned the way that she did 22 years ago, this could arguably still be a minefield.
02:44The tour showed us just how close the Duke and Duchess have grown as a couple, as well as what
02:50their future might hold.
02:51We could see from the beginning of the tour how relaxed Harry and Meghan were,
02:57talking to local people, dancing with the locals in the Anger township.
03:01There were a lot of reassuring touches and hand-holding.
03:05And then there was some time apart where Harry carried out his solo visits
03:08and Meghan spoke about how much she missed him. They are new parents after all.
03:14Being able to be in Africa and South Africa, it's my first time being in this country, has been really
03:18powerful.
03:19and Harry has continued on in a couple of other countries. We're reuniting today.
03:24I can't remember why I miss him so much.
03:26From this trip we got a real glimpse into what the future will be like for Harry and Meghan
03:30and the causes that they are most passionate about going forwards.
