00:00So, well tell them all, what makes you want to support the charity?
00:04Tonight's all about young people. I'm giving an award to the 15 to 18 year old category
00:10and it's such a difficult time in your life, that age, without being faced with illness, disease, disability
00:17and all the children here have faced adversity but they're living with it and they've overcome it
00:23so it's really important we give them a platform and shout about them and praise them because they're amazing role
00:28models.
00:29I've been supporting Wellchild now for a number of years actually and I've been to the Wellchild Awards, the Helping
00:35Hand Awards
00:36and yeah, they always are incredibly emotional and I'm presenting an award here tonight and that's just hard too, you
00:44know, when you get up on stage
00:46but it means so much to so many people so I'm just honoured to be part of it.
00:51I was going to say it's a very emotional evening, have you got the tissues ready? Do you cry easily?
00:56I think since becoming a mum I'm much more emotional, particularly about issues with children
01:01because I think you really understand what it must be, not just like for the children but for the parents.
01:06Do you know what, I'm one of those people who always ends up crying so easily so I'm sure I'll
01:10be using the tablecloth,
01:11I think that'll be big enough for me.
01:13And obviously Harry and Megan are here tonight, have you met them before in any capacity?
01:19I've met Harry before but I haven't met Megan but I'm a big admirer of her, I admire not just
01:25her fashion sense
01:26but also her charitable spirit, the different causes that she gets involved with and the reasons behind those
01:32so I definitely think for young women, myself included, she's somebody that we can all relate to and look up
01:38to.
01:38I hosted the World Child Awards a few years ago and I was on stage with Harry when he came
01:46up at the end of the evening.
01:48He's very tall but yeah, the fact that Megan's joining him tonight as well, it's great.
01:55I think I went to a polo event and Harry was playing and I was quite like, oh, I'm watching
01:59him play.
02:00So yeah, it's going to be amazing to be part of an event that they're here with supporting too.
02:05And Megan is obviously, she's the newest member of the royal family and hello, we love her.
02:10What do you think she'll sort of, how do you think she's been her first few months as a duchess?
02:16I think she's been incredible and I'm an actress myself so I know what it's like
02:20and I just think she just kind of represents a lot of people like us really.
02:28She's been doing really well and she's absolutely gorgeous, isn't she?
02:31She's gorgeous as well.
02:32Obviously the night is all about celebrating children and how brave they are.
02:36Who's the bravest person that you know in your life?
02:40Bravest person I know in my life?
02:44Oh, that's a really tough question.
02:47I'd say, I think my mum's, you know, in terms of what my mum, my mum has rheumatoid arthritis all
02:53over her body.
02:53She's had it since she was like 27 and I've always looked up to her and thought,
02:58wow, she copes with it amazingly well and given, you know, what she's gone through from such a young age.
03:04But then when you compare what she has to, you know, lots of the children who are here tonight
03:08and, you know, are supported through World Child, it's not really a, you know, a great deal.
03:13It kind of puts things into perspective.
03:15So, I think the children, you know, we're here supporting tonight are the bravest.
03:21I think there's lots of courageous people in my life because of my own charity.
03:25So, I regularly meet and mentor burn survivors and, you know, they live with a sort of lifelong injury
03:31that isn't necessarily going to go away, but they're able to move forward and become confident
03:37and make a success of their lives.
