00:05The Oscar-winning actress has been in gruelling physical training for nine months for the
00:09movie, set to be released in March next year.
00:12The superhero is also due to appear in the fourth Avengers movie, scheduled to land in
00:16cinemas just one month later.
00:18Brie, who won an Oscar for her role in Rune in 2016, worked hard to build her strength
00:22prior to filming.
00:23She's noted that playing Captain Marvel has made her discover she's more resilient and
00:28powerful than she thought.
00:29Landing the superhero role has been one of the most surreal moments of her career so
00:33far.
00:34Brie's also keen to make sure her role as Captain Marvel can lead to more women breaking
00:38through with lead roles in big-budget movies.
00:40The actress noted that she wants to be able to share it with others and make sure that
00:44as we move forward there's inclusivity at the top.
00:47Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige recently told the audience at the Cine Europe conference in
00:51Barcelona that Brie will become the new face of the Marvel Cinematic Universe next year,
00:56replacing familiar faces Iron Man played by Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans as Captain America
01:02and Chris Hemsworth as Thor.
