00:13here today talking all about mums. I was absolutely thrilled to get involved with the Star Mums
00:18competition just because I think being a mum is the most amazing job in the world and I think
00:23that we can't really praise mums enough and especially these amazing women and that have
00:28done such you know wonderful things for other people. They're all tearjerkers. They really
00:35come down to the nitty-gritty of what mums sacrifices are and how much they put themselves out for
00:43their children and I've got an incredible mum who's always been there from the get-go even
00:49to this day looking after our little ones when we're not around and I do find myself taking
00:54her for granted and you do have to remind yourself just how I remind my little ones you'll thank
01:00mummy when you're older because we all need to thank our mums. Inevitably I guess the times that
01:05we most show our mettle is when we face hardship and so for a woman who has maybe come through
01:12some
01:12challenges of her own or helped others through challenges of their own that's the real true
01:17test of when someone is truly a star mum. To be honest when I was choosing the final five
01:22I was thinking every story I read felt completely worthy of you know this title but had to kind
01:31of like just I almost think of the ones that I was still thinking about hours later you know like
01:38and kind of just which ones really stood out to me but to be quite honest they all deserved it
01:43there's some amazing women in there. In amongst the entries for me for my star mum I'm looking for
01:49someone that is selfless caring who always has time for other people and it really has gone above and
01:59beyond to love and support her family or extended family. I think every single parent out there loves
02:06their children of course and everyone can take them to school and drop them off and pick them up and
02:11wash their clothes and everything but I'm looking for something that goes above and beyond that somebody
02:15that's been through the good and the bad and that's still there still supports them 100%.
02:21I think it's really difficult to pick out a winner from obviously such a worthy bunch and I mean
02:26you could stop any woman on the street and ask her the challenges she faces as a mother and
02:31everyone's going to have their own stories and everyone's going to be you know potentially worthy of
02:35the title but I think really what you're looking for are people that show exceptional strength and
02:41tenacity under pressure and those that don't see it as a challenge those who actually see it as a
02:47blessing to be a mum because that's what it is. A lot of people say to me oh you've got
02:52two under
02:52two that must be really hard and I said no what's really hard is not being a mum and wanting
02:57to be one
02:57so I'm very lucky to be a mum and I think I think just coming together and making the most
03:05of motherhood
03:05is what this is all about.
