Lee Ryan shares his favourite Christmas memories as he becomes HELLO!’s Christmas Pudding for Great Ormond Street

It may come as a surprise to fans of Blue that fun-loving singer Lee Ryan is planning a quiet Christmas, but for the family-focused star there’s nothing better than spending the festive season with his loved ones.  We hope that you will join Lee and HELLO! by supporting this very worthy cause. We all like to be with our loved ones this time of year. For the families of patients at Great Ormond Street Hospital, this is especially true.  With your support, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity could help fund family accommodation so mums, dads, brothers and sisters can stay close by, or help fund the creation of bigger rooms in new hospital wards so parents of the most seriously ill children can stay by their bedside 24 hours a day.  “I’ll be with my little boy in the morning opening presents,” he says, “then come down [to lunch], and my family all come in later. So a bit of a staggered Christmas.”  The charity also funds play specialists so that children can enjoy some festive fun despite going through very difficult times, and funds research and equipment that will enable the hospital to find new cures and save more lives. 00:04Hello, I'm Lee Ryan, and I just want to wish you a very, very Merry Christmas.

00:09Actually, it's just me and my mum this Christmas, on Christmas Day,

00:12so we've decided not to cook, and we're going to go to the pub,

00:15let someone else cook for us.

00:17And then I'm seeing all my family.

00:19I'll be with my little boy in the morning, on Christmas morning,

00:23and then opening presents.

00:25And then, yeah, I'm going to come down, and then my family will come in later.

00:29So, a bit of a staggered Christmas.

00:31Do you know what? I'm doing a gig tomorrow and the next day,

00:35and I'm meant to be singing Nat King Cole, the Christmas song.

00:41I've got to learn it.

00:42So, I know the chestnuts roasting on an open fire.

00:51That's the only bit I know.

00:53Maybe I can sing the whole song like that.

01:06It's like an auditioning for a blue, you know.

01:10When I was younger, I remember when we lived in like a block of flats,

01:16and there was this, we was opening up our Christmas presents,

01:19and I must have only been about 10, something like that, 10, 11.

01:22And there was this kid below me, and every time he opened up a present,

01:26he went,

01:27Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.

01:31Because he was so excited.

01:33And I just remember me, my mum, and my sister just laughing our heads off

01:36because he sounded like a choo-choo train.

01:38I mean, I've worked with Great Ormond Street Hospital loads of times

01:42through our career with Blue and by myself,

01:44and it's a great charity, and they do so much.

01:48And if anyone's out there that would like to donate,
