00:04it's a it's a good one and I think Julian has just done an amazing job at wrapping it all

00:14and it's as ever there's twists and turns and there's moments of you know joy and moments of
00:23sadness it's he's always surprising the audience but it's a yeah it's a really it's got a real warm
00:30feeling this series I think that's how I see it and lots of love of course it's certain I'll miss
00:44I'll miss her so much I've loved playing Mary and I'll just miss being part of something so
00:51special and it's it's been challenging and rewarding and and also such an education
01:01working alongside Maggie and Penelope Wilton and you know all of these wonderful actors
01:09who are now my mates it just I feel very lucky
01:19it just feels like such an achievement for for all of us and just recently we BAFTA awarded us
01:28with them a special award for the show and we got a chance to celebrate with the crew and to
01:36celebrate
01:36their achievements and that was that was so lovely to be able to celebrate something with them because
01:44so often we go to these events and you know the the Emmys or the Golden Globes and we don't
01:50really get to
01:51to celebrate with them and I guess this year more than ever we've been looking back over the years and
02:02and it's I still sometimes can't get over how how huge the show became because if Laura keeps saying
02:11if no one would have watched it we wouldn't have minded because we had such a lovely time and that's
02:17all
02:17you want really as an actor
02:24has and I think people will be left content and you know on Christmas day I think people will be
02:33left with
02:34them you know very warm feeling it feels yeah to me it feels like a great ending to that to
02:44the last six years
02:49it really is yeah I mean it's it's remarkable that he writes this solely on his own and and writing
03:01for so many different characters I mean that's just it's like spinning plates and he he never ceases to
03:09amaze me with his he's always surprising me with the cap you know particularly for Mary just when I
03:15think he's exhausted all of the possibilities you know covered all sides to her personality and character
03:25he'll surprise me with something and he certainly has this season for series six and there's something
03:31that happens to her in that sort of towards the middle of of the series that came out of nowhere
03:38for
03:38me and was a new challenge and something I wasn't expecting so yeah he and it really comes down to
03:46the writing in the end I mean all of the elements that came together and that made the show what
03:51it
03:52is the core of it is really in the brilliance of of Julian's right
