00:04I think because it's simultaneously, you know, incredibly profound and also just a joyous ride.
00:11These lives are lives I would want to jump in and be. I would want to hang out with these
00:15girls.
00:15I just think it's so true to life about a lifelong female friendship or friendship in general.
00:22It's a platonic love story. Those have always been some of my favorite films, is platonic love stories.
00:29But also I just think the bravery of what it explores and how and the tone and the way.
00:38It's just really honest.
00:39It's very grounded in reality and it isn't movie-ish.
00:43And I think for me, I was so moved, you know, in having just had two daughters.
00:48I was like, I want these two women to tell a story that I could show my daughters one day.
00:55And I just love all things woman and it just, it was, you know, it was the worst timing because
01:02I just had a baby.
01:03But it was like the perfect timing because I was so excited and honored to be a part of something
01:09that I thought was so worthy.
01:11And Toni, you campaigned quite hard to get Drew on board, I understand.
01:14I wrote her a big, fat love letter.
01:16She did.
01:17Begging her to come and be a part of the movie.
01:18And I was like, oh no, here we go.
01:20Now I have to go because I have to go because I, like, I mean, everyone is a Toni Collette
01:28fan.
01:29Give me a break.
01:30I am like the biggest as well.
01:32And so I was like, oh my God, all right, here we go.
01:34Let's pack up the family.
01:36The entire life.
01:37Let's somehow figure this out.
01:39Which is always a pleasure.
01:40Man, I didn't want to leave here.
01:41It was really a special time.
01:43And then our kids became friends and you wonder sometimes why you take the risk on things.
01:48And yet I felt so honored that Toni and Catherine wanted me to be a part of this.
01:52I really felt so lucky.
01:54And so.
01:54Because you love all things women.
01:56I do.
01:57And I just showed up and I was like, okay, I'm here.
02:00I will do everything I can.
02:02I have your back.
02:03I am here for you.
02:04I want to watch you do this.
02:05I want to support you through this.
02:06Do you remember used to call yourself my little man?
02:08Like, I'm here with you.
02:09I'm your little man.
02:09It's just what I am.
02:11You know?
02:11And I think that's what Jess is to Millie.
02:13But I also think that something that really inspired me about this is all my lifelong female
02:19friendships that I've had.
02:21You know, all my girlfriends.
02:22We've gone through hell and back.
02:24We've had humor.
02:25We've had honesty.
02:26We've had tough love.
02:27We've had connection.
02:29Time apart.
02:30It's like this is so true to what a lifespan really has when you love somebody and care
02:38for them and nurture them physically, mentally, spiritually.
02:42You know, it's like when I open the door for you, I would literally make a little gentleman
02:46gesture.
02:47It's like you have a chivalry toward your friends that, you know, is just as powerful
02:54as any romantic relationship.
02:56You're so right.
02:57And obviously it paid off because your chemistry on screen was amazing.
03:00Did you have a lot of fun in the UK off set as well?
03:03It was terrible.
03:03Oh, we did.
03:05We did.
03:06We had a really good time.
03:07We made it a little bit too much fun.
03:08Yeah, it was great.
03:08And our kids, like, becoming friends was just such a crazy bonus and so fun.
03:15Yeah, it's really sweet.
03:16I know.
03:17It's so special.
03:18It's there to shine.
03:20The clouds don't own the sky.
03:24Hold on.
03:26Just one more day.
03:27Hold on.
03:29I know you'll find a way.
03:31Hold on.
03:31Mom, I'm going to give you some new business.
03:34A bit bigger, please.
03:35Mama.
03:36Come on, Franken-tits.
03:38Let's get you bandaged up.
03:40I really want me to be a heaven.
03:43I think they let me in there.
03:44Not unless they've lowered the entry requirements.
