00:08Gravity was the big winner of the night, with Alfonso Cuaron's best director gong being
00:13just one of six awards for the space thriller, as well as picking up outstanding British

00:17But Cuaron was quick to pass on any praise for the film's success.

00:27it's because of Sandra's performance.
00:29I think that she conveyed an amazing truthfulness to this emotional journey.
00:34But gravity was brought back down to earth with a bump when it was pipped to the post for
00:38the coveted Best Film Award, which instead went to 12 Years a Slave.
00:42The film star, Chiwetel Ejiofor, collected the leading actor gong, while Best Actress went
00:46to Cate Blanchett's for her role in Blue Jasmine.
00:49And if the red carpet needed any more glamour, there was a dash of royalty added.
00:53The Duke of Cambridge was in attendance, with His Royal Highness presenting the Fellowship
00:57BAFTA to Dame Helen Mirren, the highest honour the Academy can bestow.
