00:00We're here at Luton-Hoo for my triathlon, Jensen Button Trust Triathlon.
00:04This is the second year and I've just walked in and it's unbelievable.
00:09It's a very short triathlon, so it's a 200m swim, then a 9k bike, then a 2.5k run.
00:14And if you qualify through that race, if you're the top 50 of the boys or top 20 of the
00:19girls,
00:20you qualify to the final, which is a longer distance.
00:22So it should be a lot of fun. It's more of a sort of a festival vibe than just a
00:27triathlon.
00:27We worked with Health Heroes last year here at the triathlon, raised quite a bit of money,
00:31but we're hoping to raise a lot more than last year.
00:34We've also got some injured service board racing this weekend, which is great.
00:37There's a lot of pros that are racing, but there's also a lot of amateurs and first-timers,
00:42and I think that's the exciting thing about this event.
00:44Top three tips for training are commitment. Make sure you keep at it.
00:48And that's really, really key. You can't just come on and come off of it.
00:51Top tip number two is really to make sure that you work hard.
00:54It's about quality. It's not necessarily actually about quantity.
00:58And I think training tip number three is make sure that you've set the goal before you start.
01:02Don't go into it thinking, I'm going to enter into a competition.
01:05Enter that race and then start your training, and that will give you the motivation to push through.
01:10You know, during the race, you're like, I'm never doing this again.
01:12What am I doing? This is my stupid thing.
01:15And then afterwards, you want to go and do it again. You want to beat your time.
01:18You know, that's the competitive spirit, I guess.
01:20Jessie is definitely more competitive than me at table tennis.
01:24I've only played her a few times, and every time she destroys me.
01:27You know, normally as a couple, you want to, you know, look after your partner, but she just wants to
01:31destroy me.
01:33I actually look after all of the sport relief and common relief big challenges.
01:36So there's been 13 of those projects so far, starting with David Walliams Swimming Ninger's channel.
01:41I trained him for that. And then finishing actually just recently with John Bishop.
01:45I mean, for any athletic event, for any sporting event, nutrition is absolutely paramount.
01:49And actually, it's not just for the event itself. It's the training, really.
01:53Because it's during the training process where all the adaptation takes place.
01:57So you must have carbohydrates to fuel the exercise that you're doing.
02:00You must have good quality protein to make sure that you can actually resynthesize the muscle
02:05that you're breaking down on a continual basis.
02:07And, of course, those micro and macro nutrients are really key to making sure that you can sustain
02:11a very healthy environment, particularly in terms of the immune system.
02:16So nutrition underpins everything we do in training.
02:19Now, nutrition is so important in any sport.
02:23Because there's two heats, it makes it massively important to refuel after the first one
02:27and get yourself ready for the final or the wooden spoon race.
02:30And, you know, that's why here, for this event, we've got Giovanni, you know, fueling us for this race.
02:37I'm massively into a protein diet, and I think that keeps you alert.
02:41It's something that is so important in your diet and nutrition.
02:44And it can make you feel more alive if you eat the right stuff.
02:49It's great that it's growing.
02:50And, you know, the most important thing is that we raise as much money as possible for Healthy Heroes.
02:55I'd have a lot of fun in doing it as well.
