00:00A Castleford man has been jailed for multiple child sex offences following an investigation by safeguarding officers.
00:08John Godfrey was given a 12-year sentence for carrying out crimes against two girls who were under the age
00:14of 13.
00:15The 45-year-old was investigated by officers from Wakefield District Safeguarding Unit.
00:21Godfrey admitted four counts of sexual assault against one of the victims and five counts of sexual assault against another.
00:28He also admitted one count of causing a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity and one count of
00:36engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child in Wakefield between the 2010s and 2022.
