00:14I'd like to start by saying thank you for the incredibly warm welcome I've received this week.
00:19It's been heartening to see how the people of Brazil have passionately embraced
00:23the challenges we all face to protect our natural world.
00:27When I founded the Earthshot Prize in 2020, we had a 10-year goal
00:32to make this the decade in which we transformed our world for the better.
00:38We set out to tackle environmental issues head-on
00:41and make real, lasting changes that would protect life on Earth.
00:47It was a mission driven by the kind of extraordinary optimism we've felt here tonight
00:51from these innovators.
00:54Their work is the proof we need that progress is possible.
00:59Their stories are the inspiration that gives us courage.
01:03And there's a great deal we can learn from their determination
01:06and their vision for scale.
01:09As well as their unyielding belief that we can create a better world.
01:14It's no exaggeration to say that they are the world's true action hero.
