Sweden to hand over Russian 'shadow fleet' ship to Ukraine, court documents show

Moscow's "shadow fleet" consists of vessels used to skirt Western sanctions. They are often ageing ships in poor condition, without proper insurance and with opaque ownership.

00:01Sweden will hand over to Kyiv a seized Russian Shadow Fleet cargo ship, which Ukraine suspects
00:06of transporting grain stolen from its occupied territory.
00:11It comes after the Supreme Court on the 4th of August dismissed an appeal by Kaffa Shipping
00:17Limited, which owns the 96-meter Kaffa, in a bid to block the transfer requested by Ukraine
00:23and approved by two lower courts in Sweden.
00:26On Thursday, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiya thanked Sweden, saying,
00:32quote, This landmark decision sets an important precedent. The Kaffa, which was sailing under a
00:39false Guinean flag, was headed for St. Petersburg when armed Swedish police boarded it early March
00:45off Trelebur on its southern coast. 10 of the 11 crew on board were Russian nationals.
00:51According to the Istat District Court in Stockholm, authorities had acted on a request for legal
00:58assistance from Ukraine, with Kaffa being the subject of investigation. Analysts believe
