00:13My name is Brian Keene. I am the Chief Operating Officer, Executive Vice President of Blue Sky
00:19Studios. 13 years ago we were probably in and around 40 people and we're now bordering
00:24on 500. The creation of the company was based on the concept that they could do anything
00:30they put their minds to. They had all worked together. Five original founders of the company
00:35had all worked together in a film called Tron, the original Tron from Magi SynthoVision.
00:41And when the company broke up they decided that they would work together locally in the
00:48tri-state area and build their own software to continue on with digital imagery and computer
00:54animation. And Blue Sky as a name was coined because anything is possible and Blue Sky
01:00is ahead. Passion of the people is what makes it up onto the screen. Whether it be the subtlety
01:05of an eyelash or an eyebrow movement or the take of a character on the film or just how
01:11beautiful the water looks in a particular shot is all based on the literal expertise and creative
01:17genius of the people that work here. The entire production is housed within the four walls of
01:22what we have here in Connecticut. We produce everything from the storyboards at its inception,
01:28conceptual design through the final render of the film. So we absolutely were one of the
01:32pioneers in developing the render tools for what is now the visual imagery that you see
01:37in CGI animated films. Each of the studios of course are rendering, they're building their
01:42own tools. The Dreamworks and the Pixar's do the same. But we were right there with them.
01:46We achieved the milestone, the incredible milestone of the number one all-time grossing animated film
01:57internationally. Of all the films that have ever been released in animation, Ice Age Continental
02:04Drift made in this building in Greenwich, Connecticut has achieved that milestone. In 10 years we will
02:10still be here, hopefully still be in Connecticut alive and well. Maybe have this whole building,
02:16if not another floor. It's not about growing and having boundless number of people in a company,
02:22it's about continuing to be smart about how you do what you do, hire the best and brightest people
02:27to do it and make great stories.
03:25you
03:27Okay.
03:31Hmm.
03:44Oh.
03:46Oh.
04:40Oh.
04:42Whoa.
04:43I'm sorry.
04:44Oh.
04:44Oh.
04:44Oh.
04:45Oh.
04:45Oh.
04:45Oh.
04:48What I'm going to show you now does not have precedentes.
04:52Surely many of you know a Scratch, the prehistoric tree of the era of Hielo.
04:57The one who always persigue the nuez and can never get caught, always generates a cataclysm.
05:07Well, obviously, it's a classic.
05:09The studio that created a Scratch is the Blue Sky studio that was bought by Disney.
05:17So this studio disappears, disappears.
05:20Disney has all the rights of its characters.
05:24So the animators, who gave life to Scratch, said that since there is no more Blue Sky and that is,
05:33if you want, the end of a era,
05:35let's make Scratch finally come the nuez.
05:41Let's see this moment, because it's unique.
05:44There it goes.
05:48There it goes.
