00:22When I knew where High School Musical was never made a production of High School Musical
00:30The musical was so excited, inspired me and inspired me as a millennial
00:56And so many TV shows, many of which I love and that I watch myself, have 35-year-old teenagers
01:04Or 25-year-old teenagers, and I really wanted to sort of find the real thing
01:09Because I think that audiences are drawn to authenticity and seeing themselves represented on screen
01:16And the sort of style of the series was originally inspired by The Office
01:21Both Ricky Gervais' original in the UK and also the franchise that launched in the States
01:28That kind of mockumentary approach that can give you a way to really get inside a character's hand
01:49Creative opportunity of a lifetime
01:51And I just really appreciate Tim for believing in us as young people
01:57I think that's what makes our show so special too
02:00Is even in the stories and in the cast and the writing
02:04I think it's very focused on truth and the authenticity of being a teenager
02:11And I think that letting us write songs is just an extension of that
02:15And so I feel really grateful for that
02:25Yeah, so when I was eight years old, I decided to do theater
02:30And the show that my local community theater was putting on was High School Musical
02:35Because they had already adapted it into a staged musical
02:39So I auditioned, I got the role of JV Jock number two
02:42And that actually sparked my interest in musical theater for the long run
02:46And that led to doing more shows and more shows
02:49And then eventually, when I was 17, you know, the project came about
02:54And I went in and
03:13I'm just so lucky to be doing what I love every day
03:16And I'm so happy that people are resonating with the stories that we're telling
03:20But, like, at the end of the day, I'm still just, like, doing algebra in my bedroom, you know
03:25Like, that's just me
03:26So I don't think our lives are going to change too drastically, yeah
