00:44it was not a peaceful student movement from the beginning my government tried to resolve the issue
00:52peacefully through dialogue legal process and patience but behind the language of reform
01:07organized groups were working to turn students demand into violent political instrument
01:15in 2018 responded to student demands we abolish the quota system in 2024 when the high court
01:25announced the decision the government appealed because we wanted to uphold the abolition i
01:32personally took the initiative for dialogue with the students and invited them to gana bhabun
01:38the prime minister's residence three ministers also held discussions with them a quota reform movement
01:46was turned into a one point demand for my resignation false propaganda was spread in a planned way
01:57genuine students were emotionally manipulated while organized groups used their movement as cover for
02:06of violence and violence and violence and regime change

06:32that is why i formed a judicial inquiry commission on 18th july 2024 its purpose was clear every casualty had

06:47every incident of violence had to be examined and every family deserved to know the truth
06:55the truth i met victims families visited the injured and instructed the authorities to provide the highest level of
07:06medical treatment free of cost at first on first august i strengthened the inquiry into a three-member commission
07:18so that the investigation would be credible and comprehensive
07:27but after seizing power the illegal interim government led by mohammed in news stopped the investigation
07:38they did not allow the truth to come out
07:42they gave indemnity to those who involved in the killings if they truly wanted justice
07:52why did they stop the inquiry
07:55if they had nothing to hide
07:58why protect the killers
08:02that one decision tells the truth
08:06they did not want justice they wanted power they did not want investigation they wanted the evidences buried
08:18their own words export the truth
08:21an ncp leader said revolution would not have succeeded if police had not been killed and the metro rail have

08:30been set on fire a bnp leader in siras ganja also said publicly that in a purple police station was
08:40burned and police were killed to make the revolution succeed
08:46these statements show that the july august movement was not merely a quarter reform movement
08:54it became a coordinated assault on constitutional order driven by hidden instruction organized violence and propaganda
09:07the conspiracy did not end on 5th august
09:13after 5th august violence became a campaign of political persecution
09:19the killing that began on 16th july with the murder of shabu jali a daka college student and student league
09:30activists has not stopped
09:35in the last two
09:36our malik leaders and workers are being killed disappeared
09:41arrested driven from their homes and bide under false cases
09:47at least 10 000 have been killed or disappeared
09:51around 650 000 have been arrested over the last two years and
09:57three thousand five hundred cases have been filed namely nearly
10:03450 000 leaders workers and supporters are accused

10:12others have been listed as unnamed accused
10:18against me more than 600 cases has been filed
10:22women activists of satra league youth student organization youth league
10:29other affiliated organizations organizations are facing abuse humiliation torture in custody
10:38many leaders and workers have also died in prison amid documented accounts of torture denial of medical treatment
10:48deprivation of food negligence and denial of basic rights
10:55the persecution is not limited to the only members of
11:01only the member of minority community judges lawyers intellectuals cultural figures journalists professionals
11:15workers even rickshaw bullers farmers ordinary citizens have been attacked
11:22arrested or accused in murder cases
11:26no one who stands for the speed of the liberation war is safe
11:33symbols and memorials of our liberation war
11:37people have been destroyed
11:39people fighters have been humiliated with garland of shoes
11:44the historic residence of bangabandu shaykh mujibur raman
11:49the bangabandu memorial museum at dharmoni 90 dharmoni 32 has been attacked and demolished in phases
11:59this is this is not random violence this is an attempt to erase the spirit of the liberation war from

14:30project costs have been increased by 50 percent to 250 percent at the same time
14:39militancy is rising women and children are facing torture rape emulation and ordinary people no longer feel
14:47secure in their lives extortion murder kidnapping have become regular features of daily life
14:57these are not just numbers or isolated incidents behind them there is a family a worker a farmer a small
15:06business owner a mother who cannot buy food for her children and a young person who no longer see hope
15:16the people who no longer see a woman in the world but let me also remind you what bangladesh had

15:20the welfare of the people has always been the purpose of my deep politics my father father of the nation
15:29the government gave his life for the ideal and i have carried the ideal with full commitment
15:39during my five terms as a prime minister we used long-term planning sound financial management disciplined
15:48implementation to place bangladesh on a strong foundation after 2008 across 16 years and four consecutive
16:00terms we implemented major projects such as fatma breeze the metro rail rupert nuclear power plant
16:07matarbari deep seaport carnival tunnel bangabundu satellite we maintained gdp growth between 6.5 percent to 7.5 percent
16:17our development projects were not vanity projects they were part of building national capacity our social
16:26programs were not charity they were investments in human dignity we made bangladesh stand tall we made it known as
16:37the rising tiger of asia bangladesh's crisis is not only a domestic crisis it affects regional peace
16:46security trade development and human dignity that is why i call upon the international community
16:53and all the friends of bangladesh to stand with the people of bangladesh in their struggle for democracy
17:01justice and peace a stable bangladesh matters for south asia for the bay of bengal for development partners
17:11and for all countries that believe in democracy rule of law and justice the next decade can be a decade
17:20of
17:20recovery and renewal but only if democracy is restored and the people are allowed to decide their own future
17:29that is why i make these demands clearly a ban on the awam league must be lifted political prisoners must

17:40released false cases must be dropped freedom by speech must be restored media freedom must be protected judicial
17:49independence must be guaranteed law enforcement agencies must serve the people not those who use
17:58power for power for revenge these are not demands for one party only there is necessary steps to save bangladesh
18:08whatever fate awaits me i will return to my people i cannot stay away while my beloved countrymen are suffering

19:08there were 19 assassination attempts against me even the grenade attack of 21st august 2004 could not stop me
19:21therefore i am not worried about my own future i am worried about the future of bangladesh i want to

19:30because the people deserve security development prosperity and peace they deserve a state that protects them
19:40an economy that gives them opportunity and the democracy that gives them rights my return and the return
19:48of the family to the democratic process is not about power it is about putting bangladesh back to the
19:57right track it is about reviving the country's path of development progress secularism stability
20:08i want to return to bangladesh to one purpose to stand beside the people and help improve their lives the
20:16people are the source of all power i believe in them i trust them i love them and i will
