In Rome, in June 1979, the International Conference for Amnesty in Brazil is filmed, a major gathering of the Brazilian left in exile. Viewed in the present day, this archive revisits with rare vitality the question of political strategies in the face of state repressive apparatuses.

00:00A witness did not have the strength to speak and preferred that her testimony be read by

00:07I was arrested on June 23, 1970 at the house on Rua Media in Sao Paulo.
00:15I was living in hiding in that house with my partner Eduardo Leida.

02:18And this bill that was approved grant itself amnesty to military torturers.
