00:01I think in regards to the 40th anniversary it's it's something that is actually a really sad fact
00:08that 40 years on from Susie's disappearance we are still having to do the work that we do around
00:13campaigning and supporting victims and ideally I think we'd all have hoped that by now perhaps
00:19some of these issues might have gone away but for us the the kind of the cause is still very
00:25much
00:25there and so in regards to obviously the main things we do are we provide support to victims
00:32of stalking both through our national helpline advocacy service and then we have a number of
00:38more localized stalking services including advocates in the stalking threat assessment center
00:43and we are seeing still continuing increases in the number of victims of stalking that require
00:50our support and then we have broader campaigns around things like public sexual harassment which
00:57obviously we have successfully campaigned to bring that into making it a crime this year or an
01:02aggravated offence but also we're still working to ensure that there are national minimum standards
01:07for taxi and private hire vehicles and there's a whole kind of range of issues and we still
01:13one of the core things obviously that Diana and Paul were really keen to embed was this idea of
01:18personal safety as a life skill and so one of the main things we do as a charity is actually
01:23train
01:23and continue to train a lot of workplaces in kind of making sure that their employees are safe which
01:29is obviously one of the key things in regards to Susie's disappearance nobody knew for six hours that
01:34she wasn't where she was supposed to be at work and so that is still something that we very much
01:38look
01:38at now and then obviously in terms of the online harms and the kind of the different ways now that
01:46harm is being done uh caused to sort of women and girls cold case detectives remain haunted by the
01:53unsolved disappearance of Susie Lampleau 40 years on as her case is expected to be mothballed in 12 months
02:01time the 25 year old estate agent left the office of Sturgess and Sons in Fulham just after midday on
02:09the 28th of
02:10July 1986 and never returned no one was ever prosecuted for her disappearance with very limited
02:18clues as to what happened to her despite the discovery of her abandoned car and a mysterious
02:24house viewing penciled in her diary with a someone apparently called Mr Kipper what we see is actually
02:32it's just that the what we sort of refer to as digital digitally enabled stalking is now just a new
02:38behavior amongst the kind of stalking behaviors it's very rare for us to see a case where it's entirely
02:43kind of in the real world what we do see is that it's but it's often exacerbated by online and
02:49can
02:49often start online but then move into being sort of more what you would probably consider more your
02:55traditional things like following or turning up at someone's house that sort of thing
